About this deal

Divided chapters by colors, and you'll immediately feel sorry when you come across the last chapter because you know the thing associated with it. She is 8 when the story begins, and she has a complicated home life, living with two brothers and her alcoholic mother. In A Thousand Different Ways’ tells us the story of Alice, a woman who has had to deal with a multitude of emotions her entire life, thanks to her ability of seeing and feeling everything that other people around her are experiencing. Overall a lovely read, uneven and sometimes getting bogged down in the middle, but ultimately a very enjoyable journey. Despite some very dark subject matter, particularly involving Alice's mother and her younger brother, this was a delight to read.

In a Thousand Different Ways: the gripping, unforgettable new

The last part of her family was in super fast forward mode like done around the publishing deadline. In all honesty, I had fallen out of love a little with Cecelia Ahern’s books which was really disappointing as some of her early books are my favourite reads. A line in the book above, as I read and listen to music most of the time (in particulary reading this book), I find Ms Ahern's disbelief that this can be happening very funny. One single Narrator managed to effectively not do every single character’s distinctive voice but their tone, accent, country of origin and even dialects!Sie lebt zusammen mit ihren zwei Brüdern und ihrer Mutter, die sich aber nicht sonderlich um ihre Kinder kümmert und an einer bipolaren Störung leidet.

with characters who are damaged and vile and also characters (Hugh 😍) who are knights in shining armour I fail to see how this story, rammed with heart and soul, cannot grab the emotional attention of anyone who reads it.Cecelia Ahern is the author of the international bestsellers PS, I Love You; Love, Rosie; If You Could See Me Now; There's No Place Like Here; Thanks for the Memories; The Gift; The Book of Tomorrow; and The Time of My Life. And, frustratingly for we readers, Alice moves back in with her ungrateful mother where she remains for several years as her carer. I was totally immersed in this book with its unique storyline about Alice Kelly and her ability to see peoples colours. Everyone has a colour, and Alice can tell what kind of person you are, or what you are thinking by the colour that surrounds you.

In a Thousand Different Ways - Goodreads Farah’s review of In a Thousand Different Ways - Goodreads

It’s all about kindness, acceptance of our different abilities in life and most of all , the fear of not actually firing in a mood that this society is so set upon and likes to put everyone in a box. And what happens, if someone with synesthesia comes across someone who reflects no color whatsoever? Her love of being out in nature and her growing understanding of plants through seeing their moods and colours was fascinating and and, for her, life-changing. I was utterly absorbed from the onset and that hold hasn’t left me even though I’ve turned the last electronic page. Highly recommended if you enjoy rooting for an underdog, a little woo woo, and triumph over adversity themes.Die meiste Zeit allerdings ist diese permanente Reizüberflutung eine große Bürde für sie, gegen die sie sich schützen muss. Granted, characters can be whoever they want to be, but their was such strong threads of martyrdom and victimhood in Alice, along with the paradox of the vilification and glorification of motherhood (with enmeshment in both accounts)—a real 'family is everything' message.
