In his book Cook Slow, Masterchef’s Dean Edwards has created 90 recipes for slow cookers, all of which can also be made with conventional ovens.

Slow cooking is not only the best method for transforming basic ingredients into something special, but there is a feeling of satisfaction that develops inside knowing that the work is done and the magic is happening in the pot. I followed around 30 of these recipes and found that the conventional methods always came out being much nicer than the slow cooker methods. Even on the white background the typeface is difficult to read, but on some of the colour backgrounds it really is nigh on impossible!
