Also, Estelle was incredibly clever in a sense that she was able to completely change our view on his character, and by the end of the novel we were convinced that he was actually considerate and thoughtful. He puts up a front so no one will think he is weak and damaged and comes across as a self destructive and reckless idiot. Dat laat maar weer zien dat er altijd wel een reden is waarom een persoon zich op een bepaalde manier gedraagt. you can't cheat on your boyfriend with his his best friend or you can cheat with your best friend's girlfriend who is your step sister! Finally, i have to reffer that i didn't like that our heroes were so young, but then i read the blurb of the next book and i saw that it's almost two years after, so maybe there is a plan for those two!

Often in novels, particularly those for young adults, there is a lack of development in the supporting characters, with them being cardboard-cut-out like people that are present to serve a purpose but are never really explored. Tyler has some serious issues within the book and watching him find a distraction in Eden was tough, but sweet. Without writing anything explicit (this is YA after all) the author still managed to create some amazing tension between the characters.

I must be a glutton for punishment because I am reading the next book as soon as I finish this review. Another thing that I wanted was a resolution between Eden and her dad, with at least an attempt at an apology and to resolve what had been started. This book deals with some pretty heavy topics (the effect of divorce on kids, drug and alcohol abuse by a minor, child abuse, and the imprisonment of a parent).He acted as if he had a right to be a 'father' to her whenever she stayed out, and I think he forfeited that long ago.

It was quite an easy read and was a contemporary novel through and through, but I fell in love with everything about it and was surprised by how addicted I became. Having these laced within the events really made them stand out and show that these are common occurrences in most people’s lives. Eden is thrust into what feels like a completely different life, surrounded by a new family and three step-brothers all close to her in age. It’s really hard to critique this novel, as I really enjoyed it, but there are a couple of things that I wanted to change. On another note, I absolutely hate terrible drivers, snow, the dentist, and people who wake me up before 10AM.
