The amount of grain may turn off those who prefer a clean look - here it gives the film a nicely textured and cinematic feel. I hope Disney does license out their catalog and smaller companies like Arrow and Shout do get a chance to make proper discs for those movies to enjoy.

Willis is great, Rickman is wonderful, and newcomers De’voreaux White and Reginald VelJohnson steal the show in their respective roles as Argyle and LAPD Sergeant Al Powell. From the LA skyline (tequila sunrise orange) to the shiny Nakatomi Plaza, to all the early lens-flare-style shots, Die Hard has simply never looked this good, and with solid blacks that seldom dip into anything which could be mistaken for dark grey rounding out the presentation, it's easily the highlight of the new disc.They are the only company at this point that is losing money while other studios are taping into their catalog and are releasing them while they can't make any real money of new movies.

S release (it arrived in the UK in 1989) and the movie still ranks among the best action films ever.
