About this deal

It seems a junction box is needed whereby the 5 downlights are all (parallel) connected to it along with the ceiling rose. I take it this all falls under the Part P in which case does the certifier need to have access to everything such as under the floorboards? i have 3 existing spot lights that im replacing with 9 and I've discovered that at the moment and they each have their own junction box off the main lighting circuit. Installing a Wagobox light can take as little as 25% of the time it takes to install a screw terminal style junction box.

Secure cable clamps fix cables in place, providing easy installation and connection whilst protecting the wiring from damage and negating the risk of any exposed unsheathed connections. A multipurpose electrical junction enclosure that has been designed for use with the Wago 224 series terminal blocks.

Some of the lights are underneath a bath so i cant get access to crate for a full daisy chain between all 9. We and our partners use data for Personalised ads and content, ad and content measurement, audience insights and product development. Cable wise Method 3 is what I have at the moment although I don't know what sort of junction box would accept 7 pairs of cable. Agree with Doc - cable into cord gripped box with appropriate heat resistant flex coming out of box into fitting - 3 core flex should be used, and if earth not needed park in fitting somewhere.

Junction boxes are an essential piece of kit as they protect and insulate electrical connections, whether commercially or in a domestic environment. Also i dont believe this work falls under Part P / notification regulations but could be wrong - anyone know? J501 is specially designed for usage throughout lighting circuits, ideal for installing downlights efficiently and safely. Designed for ease of use with a slimline construction, fitting through 58mm diameter hole, whilst providing the option for wall fixing using two back screws.I don't have any problem joining the downlights together but when it comes to using a junction connection to the live feed etc, where am I supposed to put it? This high-quality junction box complies with BS EN 60670-22 standards and offers easy installation features, including cable clamps and a 3-plate terminal style. If rented property crossing t's and dotting i's is required specially in Scotland where I think there is compulsory EICR required. Something that has not been mentioned that you must be made aware of is, that any junction/joint made within the ceiling void must be accessible for maintenance, testing and inspection, also holes made within joists must be compliant to part A of the building regulations, look in Wiki under electrics-installation techniques.

Can I put the junction box on or between a ceiling joist or must it now be visible for ins access at all times? To view the purposes they believe they have legitimate interest for, or to object to this data processing use the vendor list link below. Obviously I can just stick a nice junction box on the joist but then this wouldn't conform to regulations due to its inaccessibility right?

I've just realised though, I'm not clear on where to actually connect the first downlight to the existing light switch.
