Like the UHD of the previous film, the Atmos track offers great support for the film’s various elements, particularly with its use of the overhead channels. Like Halloween Kills, it expands the mythology and legacy of Michael Myers, putting a new-ish spin on the series. Halloween Ends’ interrogation of that idea rests largely on the shoulders of new character Cory Cunningham (Rohan Campbell), whose strong introduction sets the stage for a study in how Michael Myers’ legacy has affected Haddonfield’s hopes for the future. While it doesn’t include an extended cut of the film like the release of Halloween Kills did, it does include a selection of deleted and extended scenes that give a better idea of what the filmmakers were going for when they made the film.As the film meanders slowly towards its long-awaited finale, you see skulls crackling, blood spilling and screaming. Ends may be the best looking of Green’s three Halloween movies, with evocative glimpses at both Haddonfield’s underbelly and upper class that serve as equally haunting backdrops for bloody and tense sequences. It's just a shame that the farewell to the franchise's two legends, Laurie and Michael, came out crumpled, rushing all the way to a spectacular finale. Because they don’t feature Jason Voorhees (being the main reason – let's be honest, there are more reasons both films somewhat suck).
