Nobody in their right mind would behave the way that she did and I just found myself really annoyed by the whole thing!

Jane Fallon is an English producer and novelist, most famous for her work on popular series Teachers, 20 Things To Do Before You're 30, Eastenders and This Life. Just after we spoke, it was announced that Gervais had taken on extra security for his UK tour after receiving death threats. It had a cast of pretty unlikable characters, I have to say I did actually detest Iris for the most part, I did find it hard to sympathise with her because of her behaviour, even though she had been through a lot with failed IVF and her husband leaving her for another woman, I did find her actions despicable. These are not friends, and I didn’t like the implication that because they had children and she didn’t they would phase her out. The often gleefully bad behaviour of her characters isn’t without irony because Fallon’s own life could hardly be more settled.
