This review goes into depth about the Neatfi task lamp, my workhorse hobby desk lamp for painting Warhammer miniatures and other scale models. It can be powered by a USB plug or power plug, but it is sadly not by battery (which would have made it amazing). You can adjust the brightness level to four different settings to fit your needs throughout the day.

It’s a huge upgrade from my old fluorescent hobby lamp (a LSF-150BLK Solare Clamp-on Swing-Arm Lamp). I would like as few obstacles to painting my minis, so something that is durable and does not require new lightbulbs is very good. If you are looking for something even more affordable than our budget option way more mobile, the Uberlight Flex might be the one for you. Oh, by the way, it’s definitely affordable when you compare it against other dedicated artist lamps on the market. One with a light switch that’s easy to access will keep you from having to fumble around for it after putting in hours of work.

The lamp has a single button which, when pressed in sequence, adjusts the brightness to 100%, 75%, 50% or 25%. For a truly color accurate lamp, which is way more important for photography, you’ll want a lamp with a CRI over 90-95. It is driving me nuts, I dont want to give up this hobby so looking for a light alternative that works with some magnkfication. It’s so much lighter so I never have to worry about it possibly falling on a client, it’s sleek and doesn’t take up so much room and the magnification is better.
