About this deal

I also felt at times the pedals were almost too grippy, not allowing for changing foot position while riding. Just as light, look better when scratched and dinged (compared to aluminum which doesn't age gracefully), they slide off of rocks instead of getting hung up, and they help absorb trail feedback. At a fraction of the cost, OneUp Comp pedals offer the same amount of grip found on the most expensive pedals on the market!

unique hexagon shaped 8mm steel pins are fitted to each side of the pedal, and thread through from the rear for easier removal when damaged. The traction pins hooked up beautifully with our shoes, and even on the chunkiest and choppiest of downhills, our feet stayed in place. Designed with a subtle convex profile to provide you with more grip thanks to the pedal sitting in the natural arch of your foot. The thin leading edge chamfered design gives you maximum clearance to reduce pedal strikes and deflect off trail obstacles. Taking them apart and properly lubricating the bushings on occasion definitely improves performance.Paired with the OneUp’s long, shin eating pins, I felt as if I was almost on stilts above the middle of the platform, with the most central pin preventing my foot from sinking in, and the shallow tread not swallowing the pins enough. Hate DU bushings as every pedal I've seen doesn't spin smooth and always seems to have either drag or play. The pedals performed flawlessly and just seemed to get better with time as they spun more freely and the edges were smoothed out. My feet were pivoting around the central pins and only contacting either the front or rear row of pins at one time. These flats really helped my game in terms of body positioning, I've been able to micro adjust my foot/body positioning depending on the corner, even with the studs locking my feet in.

Add the sole stiffness to the equation, and I struggled for foot traction at times – a phenomenon I had not yet experienced with the Etnies. If you like a convex pedal shape but prefer an aluminum body, we recommend the OneUp Aluminum pedal.Their ultra thin design sports minimal weight with a unique bearing location that allows for easy servicing and little maintenance. The real estate for foot placement is a generous 115mm long by 105mm wide, which should suit all but the clown footed out there, and tapers from just 8. Riders with shoes with tackier compounds may have a harder time moving the foot, but both testers were impressed with the ease of mobility with these pedals.

It is important to note that, due to the coloring processes during manufacturing, the colors of the composite and rubber products will not perfectly match any of our Metal anodized products. The pedals also share the identical number and distribution of traction pins (10 per side in a nice, even spread). This is quite important as nobody wants to roll into the gnar with their foot in a less-than-ideal position.

Our main concern was on flatter, bumpy sections and techy climbs where riders may be apt to pay less attention.
