This is magic: new music brought to life from my childhood, and that’s how I would have listened to it then. Much of the music was conceived before final casting was completed and, according to Pitchfork, several demos were played against auditions.

To be clear, this isn’t about the music chosen for the series (which is also excellent and completely on-point), but the original score, composed by Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein. The fourth season of Netflix‘s “Stranger Things” is finally on the way next year, and it looks like the tie-in merchandise is already starting to seep out from the Upside Down. Pitchfork reports that the original soundtrack of Stranger Things, scored by Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein, will be getting released on a red cassette this July.

If you remember the time, it's great music and great nostalgia, if not be prepared for a great discovery. At the moment, the identity of such a figure remains unknown, but it has been confirmed that the unnamed character will be a part of Stranger Things season 4. No word yet of course on who that 'mysterious figure' may be, but the character is confirmed to be a part of the supernatural drama's new season. The people who don't like this must be in love with the garbage that passes for 'music' on the radio.

The 'Stranger Things' score is soon to be released on CD and vinyl, and even the cover art (pictured here) hearkens back to the style of movie posters of the 1980′s. As well as an intriguing audio recording, the new Stranger Things set also includes a fully-functional Crosley stereo, Bluetooth capability, reusable vinyl stickers for customisation, and "exclusive content" from the show. Viewers can expect a darker storyline in season 4, with the now-matured Hawkins kids facing old and new threats that could change their world forever. It's a real trip back to the 80s (and 90s) when Tangerine Dream and the film music of John Carpenter (for example) were huge.
