Having Lina essential for him to feel again reminds him of his father’s addiction to go on with life. I really liked our heroine in the second book of the Knockemout series because she's BA in her own right and doesn't need a man to save her. His good looks, beard, and tattoos give him the quintessential bad-boy vibe, so women love him in spite of his prickly personality. That is exactly how I felt about Things We Hide From the Light, so this seems like a promising option to recreate the feeling!

I loved seeing them both go from mindsets where they didn't believe good things in life would ever happen to them to not only believing it, but wanting all those good things together (the epilogues were 10/10 perfect and made me sob). You could probably read this as a standalone but you’d definitely be missing some pieces in my opinion. Many readers who come to pick up this novel will already be familiar with these characters and the small town of Knockemout, Virginia following on from the huge success of first novel in the series, Things We Never Got Over. He who always had been the good guy, the charmer and the friendlier of the Morgan brothers is now a shell of himself.As a rule, she's not a fan of physical contact unless she initiates it, but for some reason Nash's touch is different.
