The Shrine, meanwhile, just wants to be allowed to live in peace, but has aligned itself with the survivor factions because those two don't want to kill them for existing. Scholastic says it will stop offering the controversial collection of race- and gender-related titles at middle school book fairs starting in January.The whitest faction overall is the Shrine, who are made up of freed Vortigaunts who just want to be left alone but help out those who accept them.
