This expanded, deluxe release features the iconic album newly mastered on 2 pieces of white vinyl plus previously unreleased and rare White Ladder-era B-sides and demos on 2 pieces of black vinyl.

These tracks are offered as a 4LP set, which the album on two white vinyl records and the associated tracks on two black vinyl LPs. In the unlikely event you just want a single remastered CD, then that is available, as is an album-only 2LP white vinyl set. Quotations at the end of “Say Hello, Wave Goodbye” are taken from “Into The Mystic” and “Madam George” written by Van Morrison.Recorded at Austin City Limits Live, at the Moody Theater, this live version also features four live covers including Soft Cell's "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye," "Tainted Love," and David Bowie's "Life On Mars," and "Oh! The album spawned five singles including ‘Babylon’, ‘Please Forgive Me’ and ‘Sail away’ and has now sold over three million copies in the UK alone. This could, and should have been done beautifully (as George Michael Older was), but sadly It seems to have been mastered in a public toilet using a phone as monitor speakers and then pressed using recycled milk bottle plastic!David Gray's multi-platinum-selling album, White Ladder is released for the first time on vinyl in celebration of its 20th anniversary. Well I guess I got lucky with my copy… or perhaps this is a repress… in any case, there are some very minor crackles between some tracks (not many) but otherwise warm, nice bass, good instrument separation and nice soundstage with no distortion anywhere. I can't compare it to the 1LP white version (the bad reviews put me off), but like others have said, this is the best I've heard this album. Dominated by understated acoustic strumming and his warbling tenor, opener 'Please Forgive Me' is a dead ringer for mid-'70s Dylan.
