Lt Amodeo next attended Undergraduate Pilot Training and was awarded his pilot wings at Williams AFB, Arizona, in October 1987, followed by B-52G Stratofortress Combat Crew Training at Castle AFB, California, from October 1987 to January 1988. He then left active duty and joined the Air Force Reserve in October 2000, where he served as a C-130H Hercules Evaluator Aircraft Commander, as Chief of Squadron Training, and Chief of the Stan/Eval Group, and as Chief of Safety with the 914th Airlift Wing at Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station, New York, from October 2000 to December 2005.
