Brought to you from the Cooley distillery and bottled at 40% ABV, this is a very nice peated Irish whiskey with smoky character. I can only concur with other reviews , dreadful whisky I fail to see how anybody with any discernible pallet could like this whisky. Tastes of lightly honey sweet, subdued clean rather than sooty smoke with peaty vegetal notes, sweet barley water, light spice and vanilla oak. My girlfriend said she could smell it across the table and found it a bit overpowering but it is indeed as intended. The bottle is a lovely Irish touch with the presentation box reminisant of the West of Ireland and the Connemara landscape. I bought this in Dublin airport duty free and on inspection of the bottle i realise that I had stayed previously on holiday only half a mile from the distillery on the Cooley Peninsula near Dundalk (a long way from Connemara!Silky smooth and honey sweet start, malts and fruits giving way to the intensifying full bodied peat.
