Reading previous reviews I had checked that the U bend on the sink drain was sufficiently deep that it would not just go straight round it. The sticks use powerful natural bacteria and enzymes to break down almost anything (such as soap scum and other organic matter) that gets stuck in the plughole and pipes causing blockages and bad smells. I bought these hoping they'd hope to unblock my drains, not sure if they're just not the right kind of drains but they don't seem to have helped with the unblocking (I had to do it manually instead), and it doesn't seem to helping with the smells either. The most common cause of blockages is food, grease, hair and other nasties that accumulate in the U-bend, annoyingly out of reach and seemingly impossible to clear without an expensive visit from the plumber.
