I am most definitely making this again as the weather becomes even chillier, especially as the whole thing could be prepared beforehand and then slammed into the oven for the final cook. I made a half batch since I was just cooking for 2, and used a different method to hard boil the eggs - otherwise followed the recipe to the letter. Cook This Book' is a new kind of foundational cookbook from Molly Baz, who's here to teach you absolutely everything she knows and equip you with the tools to become a better, less stressed, more efficient cook.

The topping is lighter and a little crispier than an oat-based topping, but the corn flakes did not stand out in the finished product like I had hoped they would. Nothing gets too science-y, but there is just enough to deepen an understanding about the importance of understanding how flavors work together and how to build on that knowledge for maximum flavor benefit.

The format of the recipe pages were easy to read and nicely laid out; I also liked that she included QR code’s to link to videos of certain cooking processes (ie—best way to chop an onion, delobing a pepper, etc. I love that her recipes are so flavorful and simple, and I love that I have learned lots of really tangible things from this book that I can apply to cooking outside of CTB.The only thing I'd do differently is drain off at least half of the fat after cooking the ground pork - the recipe doesn't instruct to do this and I found the sauce to be just a little on the greasy side as a result.
