About this deal

If you use a model’s invulnerable save, it is never modified by a weapon’s Armour Penetration value. If you do so, then in the Reinforcements step of one of your Movement phases, you can set up this unit anywhere on the battlefield that is more than 9" away from any enemy models.

EFFECT: Your LEAGUES OF VOTANN unit can shoot as if it were your Shooting phase, but it must target the enemy unit that just attacked it, and can only do so if that enemy unit is an eligible target. If two or more units combine to form a single large unit, and any of those units had one or more Judgement tokens, make a note of how many are on the unit with the most just before they combined - the new larger unit has a number of Judgement tokens equal to this. Whether shielded by force fields, enveloped in mystical energies or simply possessed of preternatural senses and lightning-fast reflexes, some warriors are protected by more than mere physical armour. Once the Einhyr Hearthguard join the melee, they’re just as formidable, lashing out with devastating concussion gauntlets. Use this Stratagem in your opponent’s Shooting phase, after an enemy unit that had 1 or more Judgement tokens when it was selected to shoot has resolved its attacks.Each model stands ready to wield a selection of ranged and melee weaponry – an EtaCarn plasma gun or volkanite disintegrator for calculated ranged assaults, along with a concussion gauntlet or plasma blade gauntlet for fierce close-quarters combat. One model can also be built as a Hesyr leader, equipped with a concussion hammer and a choice of two different crests. EFFECT: Your unit now declares a charge that targets only that enemy unit, and you resolve that charge as if it were your Charge phase. These marvels use ancient technologies to increase the mass of a warrior's fist as they swing, turning an already burly uppercut into an earth-shattering blow that can lift a hulking Ork right off their feet. When doing so, each model in the charging unit must end its Charge move closer to one of the units selected as a target of its charge.

Each time an attack is allocated to a model with an invulnerable save, you can choose to use either its normal Save (Sv) characteristic or its invulnerable save, but not both.

Like Hearthkyn Warriors , Hearthguard are dependable fighters, but their experience and inch-thick battle plating take the Kins’ natural durability to a whole new level. Selected from the most accomplished fighters in a Kinhold, the Einhyr Hearthguard have many roles – from bodyguards to deadly first-strike troops. Similarly, if, after all the cumulative modifiers to a hit roll have been calculated, the total modifier would be +2 or better, it is changed to be +1. Until the attacking model’s unit finishes making its attacks, each time a model in that VOTANN unit would lose a wound, roll one D6: on a 5+, that wound is not lost.

Each time a model from your army with this ability makes an attack that targets a unit that has one or more Judgement tokens, until that model’s attacks have been resolved, apply the relevant bonus from the table below to that attack. Unlike when making other types of move, models can move over enemy models when making a Fall Back move as if those enemy models were not there, but you must take a Desperate Escape test for each model that will do so (excluding models that are TITANIC or can FLY) before any models in that unit are moved. Until the end of the phase, each time a VOTANN CORE model makes a melee attack against that enemy unit, you can re-roll the wound roll.
