About this deal

In one sense the world has changed, and people are discarded in favour of ever greater profits, and companies that seek to do the right thing are punished by the market because they are spending money that is not rightfully theirs.

Think I’m right in stating that as a boy I had all the pre-1990 Mr Men books with the possible exception of “Mr Snow”. I went into this book expecting a nuanced discussion about bisexuality, culture, stereotypes, and dating, and got literally everything but that. Is she legit releasing a self help book giving advice on how to make your life great when hers is so chaotic and she seems to take a nose dive every other week? It literally felt like having a conversation with my friends outside of a gay bar we spontaneously dropped by, only to end up chain-smoking outside with a group of people we just met (one of them being a girl my friend had previously gone a date with but blew off) and guessing each other's zodiac signs (this did actually happen). He spent a year working in his father's laundry and dry-cleaning business before starting out in advertising. This picture book was written in 1971, and it would be considered insensitive and even offensive by today’s standards, which view being overweight as due to more complex reasons than a person loving to eat. And — just as some great friendships offer — this book also lands like a personal meditation, reflecting on the kinds of questions, challenges, and social dynamics that have surrounded my life since childhood and through adulthood. It covers the critical subjects of tax, executive pay and philanthropy in a balanced and brilliantly readable way. It's one of those that didn't always necessarily speak to me, but that I am grateful is out in the world and that I know will be important to a lot of bi+ folks.

Greedy follows Jen's attempts to make sense of herself as she explores the role of the male gaze, what it means to be 'queer enough," and how to overcome bi stereotypes when you're the posterchild for all of them: greedy, slutty, and constantly confused. It should be recommended reading for investors, managers, entrepreneurs and politicians – or indeed anyone interested in debating the strengths and weaknesses of the free-enterprise system. While this memoir had a few standout quotes, the perspective centers a white, upper-middle class lifestyle despite claiming to do the opposite.

In this lively critique, Spectator business editor Martin Vander Weyer argues that capitalism has indeed lost its moral compass, has lost public trust and is in urgent need of repair.A memoir in essays structured around the author's bisexuality and embracing rather than shamefully rejecting the stereotypes of being greedy, confused, slutty and indecisive.

So, this is a classic of children’s literature with vibrant, colourful pictures and an easy to grasp moral. Honest and hilarious, You Do You shares Charlotte's real-life experiences and the lessons she's learnt along the way to inspire you to begin your own journey of self-love, confidence and help you build the life you truly deserve. Greedy is an essay collection that covers a lot of ground, clocking in at over 300 pages, and I found myself asking, is it trying to cover too much? So hungry that he has swallowed a sprout, slurped down some soup, munched all the bread, wolfed down the pie, gobbled the cake, noshed all the pickle, guzzled the cheese (that made him sneeze), drank all the tea, and then, chomped up the table!Mr Greedy learns his lesson and vows to change his ways, turning into a svelte shadow of his former self. However, so long as parents and their children can take these books for what they are meant to be - humorous stories of characters with a single exaggerated feature - I think they are very entertaining reads for children.
