About this deal

Mistborn: Secret History builds upon the characterization, events, and worldbuilding of the original trilogy. The book is a lot of fun and fills in some gaps in the first trilogy and some things going into the second. This is why the famous Stick in Words of Radiance resisted Shallan - having been in the wilderness for its entire existence, there was nothing in its cognitive aspect that could be turned towards combustion. Mistborn: Secret History was originally published 30 January 2016 by Dragonsteel Entertainment as an ebook.

With a renewed sense of purpose, Kelsier studies Ruin and his motives, riding out the pulses into the world. This broke my heart, It was sweet that they met in the after life and Kelsier was speechless because he thought he let her down. Unanswered questions have surrounded Kelsier from the very first moment he appeared in Mistborn: Final Empire, and if you, like me, have had those questions nagging at you since your first reading of this book, then you should read Secret History. The author’s introduction and afterword also suggest that readers should read the later Mistborn novels featuring Wax Ladrian. Some things that I didn't like as much were how some parts were very disjointed and I feel like this would have very little merit for someone who is a casual Sanderson reader. I would recommend reading it however either before era 2 or directly after book 6 because a lot of time has passed since I read it and honestly, I wish I read it much earlier. I thought we would have to wait a lot longer to see Sanderson dive into the Cosmere of it all, but he's actually starting to weave all the connections more and more into his books.

So it's not quite a novel both in terms of length (it's not really a novella, too long, but not contemporary novel-length, either) and in terms of content. The more familiar you are with his work the more exclamations you’ll probably make whilst reading and the more you will enjoy it. I know Sanderson's intentions are that no book be completely dependent on understanding the full universe, but honestly I can't imagine how swamped with new information a reader would be if they came into this only knowing the Mistborn series. However, Elantrians aren't supposed to age, and these ones have and what's more, are known for it, since their organization's name means 'age'.Esta historia la tienen que leer SI O SI después de haber terminado la primera era de Nacidos de la bruma. Defiant, the fourth and final volume of the series that started with Skyward in 2018, comes out in November 2023, capping an already book-filled year that will see the releases of all four Secret Projects: Tress of the Emerald Sea, The Frugal Wizard’s Handbook for Surviving Medieval England, Yumi and the Nightmare Painter, and Secret Project Four (with its official title reveal coming October 2023). Resurrecting characters is a "dangerous trope" because Brandon wants death to be a real danger for his characters. AMAZING and I am again in awe, Shadows of Self came out in October to be followed by Bands of Mourning in January, this Secret History novella and we get Calamity in February *bows to the master of getting stuff done* *scowls at Patrick Rothfuss and George R R Martin* you guys know why. This raises some questions about Sel and Nalthis, which don't have consistent physical vessels for power.

Here is hoping we get more about the other characters in this novel, especially the galactic beings that seem to travel between worlds.Following the reorganization of the world, Kelsier recruits Spook, who, by virtue of Sazed's new power, is now able to see him, to help him regain a Connection to the Physical Realm by playing with Hemalurgy. The mechanisms behind what happened in the original Mistborn trilogy are complex and difficult to grasp at the best of times, but this complicates things even more. The part where Spook is doubting himself and lamenting about how Kelsier forgot him and didn't care about him.

Obviously, this is to be taken with a grain of salt - some of it is Khriss' speculation, and no historical record in a Sanderson book can be read literally. Refuses to pass on from the spirit world, randomly gets into a fist fight with another god, then randomly gets into an unprovoked fist fight with Hoid. After being killed by the Lord Ruler, Kelsier meets Preservation as he is about to pass on to the spiritual realm. If any character besides the Immortal Indomitable Jasnah Kholin was going to come back from the dead, it would be the Survivor of Hathsin. Part of why his original 'Plan B' was emotionally resonant was that over the course of the book, we saw him change somewhat - from someone who hated all nobles to the man who saved Elend's life, and from someone whose stated intention was theft to a man who ended up sacrificing himself for the sake of a revolution. Not to detract from the story or the narrator at all, but as i have listened to the arcanum unbounded, this is one of the short stories within that book! He causes full out panic when he slices the leg of a horse with Nazh's knife and creates a Ruin puppet from a flaming cloak.
