When I first found out about that I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy the book, but to be honest I think the whole historical reference thing interested me because I knew what they were talking about. But when she faces the one evil mastermind behind it all she realizes that maybe he isn't the only one she has to fear. Today, burnout and depression are at record levels, driven by a combination of intense workplace competition, oppressively ubiquitous social media encouraging comparisons with others, the quest for elite credentials, and helicopter parenting. I didn't feel like the characters grew and got to know each other well enough to really profess their love for one another.

He had all the characteristics that I like in a love interest, but for some reason I just wasn't connecting with him or the romance. In The Idea of Perfection American readers will encounter an English-speaking world that will still seem a bit unfamiliar.This question divides the townsfolk yet brings together two newcomers to Karakarook—a man and a woman who yearn to build emotional bridges but fear that they lack the tools to do so.

It was so interesting to watch her throw away everything she thought she knew and open up to new ideals.
