While that’s overwhelming, the director reigns in the smugness once the plot begins in earnest, with a refreshingly self-effacing sense of humour, some offbeat fight sequences and charming performances.through plot points and character moments rather than stop to build for something beyond the moment. presentation is off the rails for overall visual excellence, pushing this format to its absolute limit. If you are getting ready to see The Bullet Train for the first time and expect it to be a Japanese high-octane action thriller like Speed but with a distinct 1970s appearance, I think that you are setting yourself up for a disappointment. Meanwhile, Joey King stands out for the wrong reasons as an obvious rip-off/homage to KickAss‘ Hit-Girl.
