About this deal

As in the index, not all units in the codex have the Doctrina Imperatives ability – only 21 out of the 30 datasheets in the Codex have it.

For the rest of the battle, at the start of each of your Command Phases the radioactive fallout further assails any opposing units that are still partially within their deployment zone, inflicting a further Mortal Wound and forcing a Battle-shock test on a 3+. This is presumably because the old version would have been jaw-droppingly stupid on the Sydonian Skatros, and it’s still kind of OK on either a Manipulus or volkite Dominus if you have the points, but less mandatory. Auto-divinatory Targeting gives ranged weapons Ignores Cover and a Ballistic Skill characteristic of 3+, but they can only target enemy units within range of a selected objective marker. This is ace as you can now potentially steal objectives by getting a quick unit of Sicarians in to strip the OC off them! I think you probably still end up on Procession a lot of the time, and dip into this via the inevitable mode-switching Enhancement – Data-Blessed Autosermon lets you have both active on a unit once per game. The next detachment is for people who want to lean into a force of sneaky Skitarii Infantry supported by Ironstriders and Cavalry. You always have a chance at mortal wounds, and the fallout causes Battle Shock tests from that point on.

It’s every Tech-Priest’s dream to recover samples of lost archeotech – advanced machine-relics from a more enlightened age. Skitarii Infantry, Mounted, and Ironstrider units gain Stealth and, in addition, Sicarian units gain Cover when shot from outside 12”. THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY, THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG, THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES and the names of the characters, items, events and places therein are trademarks of The Saul Zaentz Company d/b/a Middle-earth Enterprises under license to New Line Productions, Inc.

Details on five specialized Detachments, including the Explorator Maniple and Cohort Cybernetica, complete with unique rules. With their attacks being twin-linked, that gives each of their lascannon shots a 97% chance of wounding. For 1CP in your Command Phase, it lets you point to an objective marker within 24″ of any Tech-Priest, and that objective marker becomes a second Acquisition objective. The Protector Imperative gives all ranged weapons the [HEAVY] ability and provides units within your Deployment Zone with a reduction in AP for incoming ranged attacks.

You can either choose a Power Source, or roll a second die in the hopes of finding a more specific component – a Weapon Part , a Force Field Part , or a Techno-arcana Part . And if you regulatory come up against some scary vehicles Master of Machines can stop them from shooting at all! Well, I just want to say my review will probably be tainted by how I feel about the past nonsense with this faction. This detachment synergizes with other abilities in the codex in ways that will surely bring joy to yourself, and frustration to your opponents. This keyword has been added to all Tech Priests, Kataphrons and Electropriests, and the rules in this detachment are largely locked to them – even the Stratagems that target based on unit Keyword only apply to models with that Keyword, so no sneaking these buffs onto Skitarii via their Leader. We see a couple of changes in strats too – Lethal Dosage for example now makes a unit +1 to wound rather than giving it lethal hits, and Bulwark Imperative no longer needs the Protector Imperative to be used! For another wild combination of abilities, Clandestine Infiltrator grants both Infiltrators and Scout 6”.

Equally though, with a different army build you might rather sit back and get the benefits of +1 to hit from heavy. While the Necrons are busy wiping the patina of long millennia off their systems and refurbishing their dusty tomb world summer homes, the Adeptus Mechanicus have packed their bags, booked passage on an Ark Mechanicus, and set out to pick up some serious souvenirs. Two of the other enhancements feel similar – Arch-negator gives the bearer’s ranged weapons Anti-Vehicle 4+ which again while being nice isn’t amazing.

For those who like fireworks theres also a once per turn enhancement that causes a vehicle to explode without having to roll! Note: Similarly to Codex: Necrons, we are currently unaware of what the final points for the Adeptus Mechanicus will look like on release. This last one would be great, except that it not only costs 2CP, but it also can only be used on friendly units that disembarked from a transport this turn. As an added bonus, this book includes a one-use code to unlock exclusive Codex: Adeptus Mechanicus content in Warhammer 40,000: The App.
