About this deal

I know, I know. Running a guy over isn’t the best way to get his attention, but in my defence, my driving skills are all I really have. And impressing the tall, dark, mysterious man who barely speaks was far too tempting to pass up. All I was sure about was that I had to walk into a market in a remote dusty village, undercover, and on reconnaissance. For what, I’d be told on the fly. I wasn’t clear what country we were heading for, and I couldn’t find out what the target soldier’s mission had been or why the army cared so much.

These would help establish her as a fully fledged author in time, creating a name for her quite unlike any other. Many of these would continue as time went on, each featuring different running themes and ideas running throughout. Often featuring Scottish protagonists, her books would be varied, as she carries on producing novels, writing more and more to this day. She was beautiful, in an elegant pantsuit and with her fair hair swept up. Like Leo, she wasn’t dressed for snowsports, as most people on the mountain were, and, like him, she had the same wide mouth in an easy smile. Defective?” Her eyes darted between Lou’s expression of fake sympathy and the small bite of scone Callum hadn’t eaten yet. “It looked fine.” If that was a compliment, I had no idea. But the spark in his eye stirred something deep in my belly. Gordain’s gaze dipped to my lips, and the same thing happened as in the ballroom. His focus found my eyes and we both stopped moving, staring for a long moment that gave me a rush of chemicals, fizzing and wild.

I really enjoyed this third installment in Jolie Vines’ Marry the Scot series. The hero of this book is Gordain, younger brother of Callum, the male lead in book one. He’s also the tattooed helicopter pilot best friend to James from book two... That is the installment that laid the groundwork for this romance. It is where Gordain met James’ younger sister, Ella, and helped her escape from the clutches of her evil uncle Richard. A smash broke the silence. Then another. But it wasn’t my uncle; it came from a distance, like a window had been broken at the front of the house. We get to spend a lot of time with the secondary cast of characters who we have gotten to know from previous books and that is always a treat. We also see brothers Ally and Wasp growing up, thanks to the expense of time over which the book progresses. As always, Vines has a deft hand with love scenes and paints a love story with characters who are hopeful, yet vulnerable. I really enjoyed this book and although the haven’t read the previous books in the series, I had no trouble; reading this one as a stand alone. This is Gordain and Ella’s story and it was a captivating one. Gordain is best friend’s with Ella’ brother James and he comes to her rescue when James asks him to help Ella escape from their evil uncle Richard. By the time he reached my table, I was on my feet, arms ready and spine stiffened to receive his crashing bear hug. On cue, he slammed into me.

Is there a Blayne McRae in the house?” A holler came from the doors, and I dragged my focus up to witness a brawny Islander barrelling his way towards me. With a sound of frustration, the woman stormed out of the shop, followed closely by the male half of the couple. The bells rang merrily as the door closed behind them, as if celebrating their absence. Until I tilted her to remove her pink padded outfit, and I saw her ma in her wee consternated expression. But the past will always catch up with you, no matter how far you run or who you fall in love with on the way. Bull will never trust again, certainly not a single mother with secrets. But he can't stop the draw. Autumn's sass drives him to distraction, her body has him burning up. Working side by side with her at his bar every day is enough to awaken his protective side once again. Across the desk, the probation officer heaved a sigh and I wanted to strangle him. At 10:15AM on a Monday, I’d been out of prison for an hour and twenty minutes. My blood rushed through my veins, the lure of freedom loud in my head. On cue, one of the girls stood. The musician raised his eyebrows at me, and I waited, amusement curling in my belly. Come the Fall features one hot alpha male and one strong heroine, and is a novella in the Marry the Scot world. Autumn features in Hero but this novella is entirely standalone.

My cheeks heated. I was seventeen, for crying out loud. I shouldn’t be blushing if my dad found out I was hanging out with a guy. I paid her no mind, same as I ignored Rena taking a seat next to the remaining woman. Instead, I shuffled until my shoulders met the wall then I rested the bairn on my lap. I don’t think they’ve noticed you, specifically.” I wrinkled my nose, not really wanting to burst his bubble. Brodie’s dark hair hung over his eyes in a mess of static from the winter hat he’d just dragged off, and joy shone from him. We sprinted along the side of the house. Around the corner, we emerged into the car park. Richard’s green Jaguar sat on the gravel. My hardened, bitter heart beat out of time at the random thought that I might see Nate. Why? I had no reason to expect his Special Forces unit to be there. Even so, it staggered me, just as it did every time I was deployed. The chance to see his face again… Oh, his tongue is in my mouth all the time,” Lou said sweetly, and Callum’s coughing increased. “I didn’t think he’d mind my germs.” He grinned, and dimples popped. Damn. He was too cute for his own good. High cheekbones, a slightly too-wide mouth, and a flare of light in his eyes that I took way too long over admiring. I always pictured my brother's best friend to be impressive - after all, he's a military helicopter pilot whose job is to save people. Then he appears in front of me and my assumptions fly out of the window.

He thumbed at himself. “Solo artist. But I have session musicians. None I’d call friends. I’m not exactly alone, though.” The third instalment in the Marry the Scot contemporary romance series takes you away to big love in the splendour of the Scottish Highlands. You'll adore this modern-day hot Scot and his delicate and determined musician. The words penetrated, clearing the last vestiges of my drunken night, and my mind woke into clear, sharp focus. This was a military target. The mission just got way more interesting. “Who?”

My experience of men, real men, was beyond limited. The boarding school I’d recently left had been a ladies-only college, and it had been a trek to the nearest village. I’d certainly never been close to a hard-bodied, hard-breathing, rugged example of the gender like Gordain. A dull clunk came, maybe from a glass being placed on a wooden floor. Suspiciously near. Was he in the ballroom? I twisted to peer through the gap under the cupboard door. A shadow moved by the windows.
