About this deal

Mandy Miller (born Carmen Isabella Miller in 1944) is an English former child actress who made a number of films in the 1950s. She is also remembered for her recording of the 1956 song " Nellie the Elephant". Hum Tumhen Chahte Hain Aise - The film version of this song did not include the antara sung by Kanchan.

Martin Melhuish (23 April 1977). "Juno 1977". Billboard. Nielsen Business Media, Inc. pp.76–. ISSN 0006-2510. The Radio Times wrote, "the dance sequences are fine, but the poor production values ruin the look of the film"; [4] while TV Guide called it "a trite film". [5] However, Sky Movies wrote, "Terence Morgan makes the best impression, as a sponger as smooth as he is nasty, in this ballet-orientated story, tailored to the talents of Britain's then screen wonder child, Mandy Miller. It bases its appeal on a blend of small-girl sentiment, highly coloured melodramatics and ballet (the dance ensembles are very well done). Mai Zetterling and Guy Rolfe provide rather limp support to Mandy's undeniable charm, but the story's fiery climax is most effective." [6] Box Office [ edit ] She put in a much-praised performance in her second film, another Ealing production, Mandy (1952), playing a deaf-mute child whose parents (played by Terence Morgan and Phyllis Calvert) did not know how to cope with bringing her up. This briefly made her a leading actress. [3] Predictable, stolid movie equivalent of a 'Women's Own' short story. Wet Sunday afternoon fare if you have nothing better to do - which I obviously haven't.Since 2000, Charles has performed throughout Europe where disco music and her hit singles have been reappraised, and she has become a popular live performer. Charles featured in the Top 5 of the US Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart with "Higher" in 2006. The song was produced by Sanny X. She made a guest appearance with The Producers at their 2007 concert, singing " Slave to the Rhythm". In October 2007, Charles recorded "Hide and Seek" with producer Ian Levine for the album Disco 2008. Her latest album, Listen 2 the Music was released in March 2008. Song• Aap Jaisa Koi Meri Zindagi Mein Aaye - This was composer Biddu's first Hindi film song. Portions of the song bore similarities with pop songs he had composed before - "Kung Fu Fighting" (1974), performed by Carl Douglas, and "Dance Little Lady Dance" (1976), performed by Tina Charles.[ 2][ 3][ 4] Prima ballerina Nina Gordon is being financially exploited by her husband Mark (Terence Morgan). On the night of her triumphant Royal Opera House debut, she discovers he is also being unfaithful. Distraught, she leaves the party they were attending. However, Mark pulls up in their car and she gets in and he drives off at speed into the night. There is a car crash and Nina's leg is badly broken. Hum Tumhen Chahte Hain Aise - Lyricist Indeevar had originally written this song for the film "Anand Ashram" (1977) but filmmaker Shakti Samanta had rejected it.[ 6][ 7]

She also had lighter roles, such as in Raising a Riot (1955) starring Kenneth More. Some of her other co-stars were Joan Greenwood, Cecil Parker, Godfrey Tearle, Thora Hird and Sam Wanamaker. Tina Charles (born Tina Hoskins; 10 March 1954) is an English singer who achieved success as a disco artist in the mid to late 1970s. Her most successful single was the UK no. 1 hit " I Love to Love (But My Baby Loves to Dance)" in 1976. [1] Early life [ edit ]Learning that she'll never dance again, Nina is abandoned by Mark. But with the help of a sympathetic doctor (Guy Rolfe), Nina recovers the use of her legs, and begins to live her life vicariously through her talented daughter (Mandy Miller). When Mark reenters Nina's life, intending to take control of the daughter's dancing career, he finds the tables are turned on him. Biddu's collaboration continued on a future album and another song hit: "Dance Little Lady Dance". In total, Charles spent 42 weeks on the UK Singles Chart in 1976 alone, mainly due to these two records. [9] During this time, her touring band included Trevor Horn (for a while her boyfriend), [10] Geoff Downes, and Bruce Woolley. [11] Simpson, Dave (30 October 2018). "The Buggles: how we made Video Killed the Radio Star". The Guardian . Retrieved 21 December 2018. Miller made two popular single records: "Snowflakes" and " Nellie the Elephant", the latter produced by George Martin. Corbett, Ronnie; Nobbs, David (2006).
