About this deal

Cut to a tent on the beach. A girl looks at it and walks in. Another one enters as well, and then another)

Each episode focuses on three simple subjects, such as "Top, Bottom, and Jump", and each episode will have typically 1-minute shorts that focus on each subject. The shorts star Bob the Ball, Little Cup, Mr. String, Doris the Door, Mop, Pad and Pencil, Plush, and the Shoe Family. They are also produced in many animation styles, with the main three being CGI, stop motion, and cel animation. Live-action shorts featuring kids, adults and animals are also seen, narrated by Bob. I know this tells you absolutely nothing about what this book was about. How am I supposed to convince people to read it? I just don't even know how to talk about it. It was a novel, and it was also a collection of short stories, and it was about a lot of things like love and creativity and muses and Bluebeard and the nastiness (and laziness) of the tradition of killing off heroines for dramatic impact. It was also wonderful, and you should all read it and talk about it so I can eat your thoughts. Cut to the inside of a photo studio. Mr. String in front of a curtain with a bow tie on, with a camera pointed towards him) Pad: Now where is that breadpan? Step three, we knead the dough, (Takes dough and rubs it) and knead it, ah.. and knead it, ah! In this segment, kids are hitting a pinata high in a tree. After many tries, the kids crowd around to get the piles of candy. The premise is that an author St. John Fox's fictional muse comes to life, intent on making him change his murdering ways. None of his fictional heroines ever make it out of his stories alive, and Mary Foxe is intent on putting a stop to the carnage. It doesn't take long for St John's wife Daphne to become suspicious, and he must choose a path. It's a creative mash-up of featuring retold fairytales (including the obvious Bluebeard), folklore, Yoruba traditions and myth. Even if you're not familiar with the original story being turned on its head, it's still so much fun to read on its own!

Everyone in the woods was on a self-medicated high, more interested in navel-gazing than looking above their heads to find a compass direction; nor were they there to offer guidance to the others who stumbled around in the darkness. Some years ago a group of four of us had planned a trip to Estonia, taking advantage of one of the cheap flights that had become available. The first leg of our journey was by train to Cologne, and from there to the Cologne-Bonn airport. Near the time that our train was due, one drew up at the platform with its destination marked at the front and on the side of each coach: Rheine. Pad and Pencil – a presumably romantic drawing pad and pencil couple who constantly flatter each other through French accents. This episode's "Starring" segment features a noticeably different intro, featuring extra instrumentation, including piano keys for Mop, an oboe for Mr. String, an accordion for Pad and Pencil, synths implementing the main theme starting from Doris, and an extended outro. Bob (off-screen): Starring... Mop, Mr. String, The Shoe Family, Doris the Door, Little Cup, Plush, Pad and Pencil, and me, Bob the Ball! Today, we're a little curious about.. Hard, Easy, and Change!Cut to kids getting into barbershop chairs and being covered with purple towels. Their hair gets sprayed, then cut, and then shaved. At the end, they look into mirrors at their new hairdos)

Mr. String: (Comes down from ceiling) Uh oh, wax. Hmm, definitely, slippery. (Gets down) Somebody could slip on this floor, somebody could fall, and never, ever, ever, get up. Ooh, boy, that would be terrible. The Shoe Family - A family of shoes that have shoe themed names. Mary Jane (voiced by Amanda Kaplan) is a pair of Mary Janes, Lacey (voiced by Sandy Correia) is a pair of sneakers with laces, Mr. Shoe (voiced by Gary Yudman) is a pair of brown dress shoes, and Mrs. Shoe (also voiced by Sandy Correia) is a pair of red high heels. In "A Little Curious About Life", they had a baby boy named Booties, who is a pair of blue baby booties.A Day in the Limelight: A lot of the shorts focus on a certain character's interaction with the given subject. Season 2's "I Am" Song for Plush has a dance based off of him, performed twice in the song—once so the viewers can learn it, and again so they can perform it. Mr. String: Yikes! The Shoe Family can slip on this slippery floor, and never, ever, ever, get to the circus. The elephants will be sad, no one will eat all the peanuts and cotton candy and stuff, then the tent will fill up and fall down. Oh boy, I have to warn them! Look out... no, no, no.. uh, watch it... no no no.. uh, caution, this floor is slippery, that's it! Caution, this floor is... This is the story of, well, Mr. Fox. And Mr.Fox has one major failing: he can't stop killing all his female characters. Of course, this is a failing many people (men, really) share with him, but most of them make it through life perfectly fine, never thinking this particular indulgence of theirs might be a problem. They don't have a muse out to get them, though. Because Mary Foxe, the muse of Mr. Fox, has absolutely had it with the killings. So she materialises and tells him to do better, when it turns out Mr. Fox is more interested in flirting and a lot less interested in changing his ways, she resorts to other means. She brings him into the world he thought he'd mastered and shows him how utterly mistaken he is. Insane Troll Logic: Mr. String's fears can dip into this at times. For example, eating a bowl of oatmeal would somehow result in the world not having any more beans.
