About this deal

When you breathe deeply, the middle enters your nose, creating a perfect aura of floral scents. White rose's relieving and sedative effects uplift your mood, while the water lily with lotus brings the earthy, sweet floral undertones to heal your weary body. Infusion D'iris starts off with what its name promises: a cloud of fairly dry (although not the dryest of dry, I will give that crown to Chanel No. 19) iris that is bedded on pleasant, non-citric greens. I clearly smelled the galbanum, but there was something else that is hard to describe. I'm pretty sure it wasn't the neroli - in fact, I didn't get much of it on my skin. My guess is that maybe it was the mastic, because it had a pungent green quality that reminded me of juniper.

It smells clean and expensive. It you like this kind of stuff, go directly for 200 ml, because frankly the smaller ones are just too expensive. And even if you don't want to, you will end up using it like a cologne, you will overspray it and FREQUENTLY in summer. As it behaves like a cologne, you will treat it like one. I also sampled the newer 2015 version at the pharmacy and while it performed better on me (less incense, fresher and greener), there was too much of a 'diaper' smell in the dry down. First off, it is different. Those who detect no difference between the two compositions are probably working from memory. Yes, they are more similar than either is to, say, CHANEL NO 5. But they are distinct compositions, without a doubt. My initial impression upon applying ABSOLUE was that this version was quite a bit more resinous than the original, what I see borne out in the hierarchy of notes above, where not only benzoin but also "mastic resin" is listed. This version also seems sweeter and inches in the direction of Guerlain L'INSTANT. It also conjures up in my mind memories of Kenzo FLOWER. One review mentions the Prada baby oil accord and, yes, I'd have to agree that it is much more pronounced in this version. I might be personal bias but I think the one made in France is significantly stronger than Spain one. Those that are tired of all the popular jam-like sweet playful girly perfumery that is flooding the modern market.EDIT: I was trying to decipher what that beautiful almond-ish note was exactly, and then I saw the mastic note in the ingredients listed here. And I thought yes...it is similar to mastic but...it isn't quite that... but this note was so familiar...almond-ish...mastic-y... and then it hit me!The note that gives that impression and it is the main note of this perfume is the spice mahlab. If you have ever grinded mahlab seeds and tried this perfume, you know exactly what I am talking about. The mahlab seeds when grinded they become a beautiful aromatic powder that can be used in a pastry recipe that is well known here in Greece called tsoureki that we make usually in Easter. In fact, mahleb gets combined beautiful with mastic (one ingredient compliments the other in the recipe), so it is no surprise, that the mastic is referred here. However the note is definitely mahlab! Peony, Freesia, and Jasmine are the core heart notes. However, the floral accents are subdued and not overwhelming. The freesia only briefly inserts its delicate petals into the composition before becoming extremely prominent. Most powdery, woodsy, and floral notes relay memories of vintage cosmetics and childhood. The romantic floral fragrances enhanced with delicate notes create a sense of deepness and sensuality.

On the Infusion d`Homme bottle you will find Neroli de Tunisie, Irris Pallida, Bois de Cedre, VETIVER, Encens de Somalie and Benjoin du Laos. Just bought one bottle of this from John Lewis. I love Prada's soapy fragrances. One of my favourite is Prada Amber Pour Homme. Is just soapy clean. Even if I own more than 60 bottles, and some of them are regarded as gems by the connoisseurs (I only consider myself one amateur in the fragrance world) Prada Amber pour Homme is the one that I use the most. Smells expensive-clean in a good way. Is what I wear if I want to feel comfortable. So I decided to try Prada's new Infusion d'Iris Cèdre.A timeless, crystalline, dry, powdery, heaven. My all time favourite fragrance. I couldn't quite fathom that I could have found my signature scent but I did. There is not much else to say. This is pure heaven. Time to write a review on this old pal. I remember sampling Infusion d'Iris the first time in 2014. It was not love at first sniff, but the smell, on paper, was very distinct: iris-y, dry, woody, very "aloof" and quite "upscale". I had no desire to own a bottle.
