About this deal

When you turn the large belt tensioner with the Sovol lighting symbol, you can adjust the belt tension for even printing results. Sovol's proprietary All Metal Direct Drive Extruder with Planetary Gearhead ensures more precise and smoother extrusion through a higher gear ratio and lighter motor. That being said, what should I do? Should I bite the bullet and get an SV06? I mean, I can always return it, but I don’t need another pain in the ass. Or is there another alternative I’m not aware of (Elegoo looks pretty good?). Or should I just accept the Sunk Cost aspect and keep doing the “Ship of Theseus” thing to the Aquila?

Sovol's self-developed planetary geared all-metal direct drive extruder ensures more precise and smoother extrusion through a higher gear ratio and lighter motor. The Sovol SV06 Plus features an all-metal hotend with extended heatbreak. This high-flow hotend supports high-speed printing up to 150 mm/s and is designed for printing temperatures up to 300 °C. The all-metal hotend allows it to work with both standard filaments and high-temperature materials: TPU, PLA, PETG, ABS, PC, ASA, nylon, carbon fibre and wood. This print really impressed us with both the detail and the overhangs. Even though we turned up the print speed to reduce the print time, the Sovol SV06 Plus was still able to produce beautiful results. We’ve reviewed several printers with Klipper and the Sovol SV07 has been one of the easiest to set up and use. It really is an excellent choice for people who want to get into Klipper without the hassle of setting up a Raspberry Pi and also need a new Ender style bed slinger. It’s easy enough to use to be a beginner’s first printer, but experienced users will also enjoy having full access to Klipper.

Customer Reviews

The Sovol SV07 is billed as an "entry-level" Klipper machine that features a direct-drive extruder, planetary gearing, a high-flow hot end, and more.A Klipper 3D Printer for Beginners

The SV06 Plus's inductive sensor automatically detects 25 points and compensates for the unevenness of the heated bed. The intelligent sensor ensures perfect levelling and a beautiful first layer! Thanks to the PEI coating, the printed models can be easily detached from the flexible build plate The build plate is very robust, so scratches can not happen too easily! For the price you get an included PEI plate and Direct drive. This is nearly unheard of for a starter printer. The PEI-coated build plate is flexible, allowing printed models to be easily removed without tools. The durable spring steel plate cannot be scratched easily.The SV06 has the G34 Z Align feature. This sets each Z-axis motor independently to set up the X-axis.

Because the motherboard uses UART mode and G34 is updated, the SV06 Plus has the G34 Auto Z Align function. To automatically level the x-axis, you just need to select the function - the x-axis will be adjusted effortlessly.The robust screws of the double Z-axis and powerful stepper motors ensure precise nozzle movements with an accuracy of 0.001 mm. The printer supports UART mode, which can be easily modified and upgraded by experienced 3D experts. Convenient and incredibly easy to use, the rotating belt tensioner allows you to achieve consistent printing results. Truly happy with this printer. It will become one of my go to's. The one thing I would say is make sure to upgrade the firmware when you buy this. videoPosterUrl": "//www.sovol3d.com/cdn/shop/files/Sovol_SV06_Plus_Fully_Open_Source_3D_Printer_Sovol_3D_Printer_11.jpg?v=1697459027","mainVideoEmbed": {
