About this deal

When I woke up in the morning the color was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. I have never gotten that color even with chemical dye. It was such a bright maroon-red and it had highlights of a lighter red which I loved. It can be drying, so I suggest coconut oil slathered on in advance, followed by a light palm coating of Jojoba or Sweet Almond oil afterward. If you want to, you can do an raw honey, egg & oil mask after washing your hair of developer. Egg has protein, honey and oil will soften and moisturize your hair.

My hair is so naturally dark that I thought I’d never be able to use henna and have it turn out noticeably different. This was not this case! I am very pleased with the wine red color! I love that the color worked with the few natural highlights I do have– the lighter browns are a lighter, more vibrant red, and my darkest hairs are still very dark with a very faint hint of red. My favorite thing– my steadily breeding grey hairs have turned an amazing cherry red, much like the color I always wanted my hair to turn when I used that goth-store red hair dye in high school. So cool! Henna hair dyeing treatments should be repeated every 4-6 weeks or root touch ups as needed in between colorings. Henna can be used to create a gloss or conditioning mask treatment that can be done every 2-3 weeks. Henna might loosen your curl pattern, should this apply. You can add amla or zizyphus powder as treatments to enhance and maintain curls and volume. We highly recommend that aloe vera powder is added or one of our hair oils to your henna recipe for added moisture as henna can be drying without. The only complaint is that the water will always run orange after washing your hair. I’m used to it now and all my towels are dark and I never wear light clothes when my hair is air drying because it would leave orange on the clothes and if I go to the beach swimming my hair will be dripping wet orange color. That’s the only thing. But you can wash it off your clothes with just water. Henna doesn’t stain permanently so it’s not a big deal.

It is safe to say that I will be a lifetime customer, and will be spreading to the word to all my red headed friends. Henna with manjistha powder for hair creates a bright red hair dye conditioner. henna gives healthy scalp promoting hair growth and shine Whichever colour you go for, it is important you do not expect the exact shade on the box, unless you have totally white-grey hair. It is a cream formulation, making application fuss-free, and comes with a nourishing hair mask that helps the colour last longer.

I’m not going to lie, this is an absolute pain in the ass, and seems to take forever. Lush recently changed the formula of their henna hair dye to make it a little softer, but having to prepare it is still a faff I could definitely do without, and one of the biggest disadvantages of it, as far as I’m concerned. In addition, Lush Henna Hair Dye doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals, so it is gentle on your hair and scalp. And the downsides? Because there have to be some, right? I also love how much healthier my hair is from using henna. I have thin curly hair, and henna did mellow out the curl a bit, but not in a bad way. Frizz is maintained (a big issue for me) and split ends are less frequent. I never thought I could grow my hair much past my shoulders, but since I’ve made the switch from chemical dye to henna, my hair is stronger, breaks less often, and is able to grow. I can’t stop touching it! (But should. Hah!) I started getting frayed very young and I have dark wavy hair. This color changes my natural dark brown to beautiful shiny chocolate color with reddish shine and my whites are bright wine red. I get compliments almost every day for the past 7 years. In the sun my hair is so bright and shiny this amazing beautiful reddish tone (wine den not orange) and whites that turn red red look just like the high litesOne word: Awesome color! I have dark brown, curly hair that is a mix of 3b,3c curls, about 5-10% grey with natural red highlights (I come from a family containing a couple of gingers). So I have been using henna to mask the white and blend with my natural hair color and highlights for over 3 years. I have just dealt with how long I had to leave regular BAQ henna in (7+ hours) to get my little, stubborn white/gray hairs to take the dye, which would oxidize to a very noticeable red/orange color. This henna mix, on the other hand, turned my white/gray hairs to a beautiful, rich red color that I have been craving in a little over 2 hours! (I accidentally took a 2.5 hour nap after applying the dye.)
