As we previously mentioned, the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 is being held in Liverpool and is the 67th annual contest. The contest is being held on behalf of last year’s winner Ukraine. This year, there will be 37 countries taking part in the contest. The show starts at 8pm BST, and will be hosted by Graham Norton, Julia Sanina, Alesha Dixon and Eurovision goddess Hannah Waddingham. It will feature 26 acts vying for the title. Sweden’s Loreen is hotly tipped to win, but Finland’s Käärijä, Israel’s Noa Kirel, and Noway’s Alessandra might have other plans. Marking a low point in Irish musical history is Dustin’s Turkey puppet. Yes, that’s correct. Ireland happened upon the idea of using a puppet to represent the country at the 2008 event. ‘Where oh where did it all go wrong’ asked Dustin before his warbling intro morphed into a bizarre electro number. Some of the boxes you will be marking off include synchronised dance routine, presenter outfit change, singing out of tune, the UK gets one point, Graham Norton says something snarky, twelve points to a neighbour, awkward time delay and nil points. Add Items to The Bingo Card – there are more than 40 pre-filled items so the bingo cards are ready to go. But you can also add your own or change the existing ones if you’d like. They can be added where it says ‘Enter words/emojis’. When you’re ready, press generate bingo card. All you’ve got to do is mark them off as they occur. The first person to mark most or all of the items is declared the winner. First we get points from the juries country by country, read out by a national representative, who usually takes slightly too long to do it, thus causing the show to overrun. After all of the jury scores are in, we have the half-time interim results table. Instead of numbers, our Euro Vision bingo cards contain sayings, events and clichés, most of which will probably happen throughout the night. Just like your standard game of bingo with numbers, each time you spot something that is listed on your bingo card, you can mark it off. Whoever marks off all boxes first gets to shout BINGO! As the host, you may want to have a designated prize set aside for the winner. More About Eurovision 2023 There are loads of famous faces from Eurovision past set to appear, and there will be celebrations of Liverpool’s musical heritage, and tributes to Ukraine, who would be hosting tonight’s event if it wasn’t for Russia’s invasion of their country. The keen-eyed among you will spot that this means as we get closer to the top, songs in sixth, fifth, fourth place etc start leaping over the interim leader. But the interim leader is the last one to have their public points added, so you pretty much never know what the final result will be until there are only two or three more scores to be added.
