Detective Kikitchi is Kikitchi's Henshin Jo transformation exclusive to the 15th Anniversary version of the Tamagotchi iD L. He wears a detective outfit consisting of a brown cap and coat. He carries a magnifying glass and a wood smoke pipe. The Tamagotchi toys are beloved for their quirky characters that occupy the tiny LCD screen surrounded by colourful plastic. However, despite their memorable designs, some of their names are a little confusing, and easy to forget, so we’ve listed all the available critters from generation one and two of the Tamagotchi original lines. Baby to toddler growth is either linear or, in the case of there being more than one toddler character, random. However, there have been times where a given child character has been branded "good" or "bad" care. For example on the Tamagotchi Music Star, anything other than perfect care will result in Kuchitamatchi and Tamatchi.

The lifespan of a Tamagotchi depends on how well you take care of it and which Tamagotchi you get, with some randomness thrown in. Generally, if you take good care of your Tamagotchi, it will live for about 12 days. He does not like scary stories and after hearing them from his friends, he became very paranoid of suspicious noises and shadows. In one episode, Kikitchi tries to conquer this fear by going into a scary forest at night with his friends. Kikitchi also has great athletic ability, being able to jump very high and from place to place in a short amount of time. He loves bananas very much, similar to a monkey. On the Tamagotchi Connection Version 4, Version 4.5, Chou Jinsei Enjoi Tamagotchi Plus, and Ura Jinsei Enjoy Tamagotchi Plus, teenagers will graduate from kindergarten and begin their education at Tamagotchi School ( Ura Tama School on the Uratama). On the Tamagotchi Music Star, at this stage, the Tamagotchi joins the Gotchi Performing Arts School and forms their first band. Lord Kikitchi is a character that Kikitchi plays in Princess Lovelin, a TAMAX-TV show where the setting is ancient Japan. He rules over Castle Town with Lady Chamametchi and is often sending others to look for Princess Lovelin who sneaks out into town. Kikitchi is often very stubborn, self-centered, and only listens to himself. He got this way after being bullied a lot as a child because of what he often heard with his big ears. No one would believe what he heard and would scold him for lying which left him without any friends. Kikitchi's parents were also very busy in running Celebria so they could not be around when he needed company. As a result, Kikitchi became bitter and rejected any attempts at friendship in fear of being bullied again. As a general rule, the baby stage will last approximately one hour, and then evolve into the child stage. However, on certain vintage releases such as the Mori de Hakken!! Tamagotch, the Tamagotchi will remain in this stage for 24 hours if the white egg is chosen. On the Tamagotchi Osutchi and Mesutchi, babies will stay for 24 hours before evolving, sleep from 8pm to 9am and make discipline calls. The only exception is a Kuritchi that hatched from an egg which will evolve after an hour and act like a standard baby stage character. On the Tamagotchi Mini and most Tamagotchi Nano releases, the baby stage will last 24 hours, and then evolve into an adult, skipping the child and teen stages.
