About this deal

Penny and Station Officer Steele are the only Pontypandy firefighters who have yet to drive Jupiter in a Fireman Sam movie. This was first and only time that a non-firefighter has driven Jupiter (Until Flex Dexter did it in Set for Action!). It was driven by Norman Price on this occasion. When Norman turns on Jupiter, he turns the key from his right, but when he turns off Jupiter, he turns the key from his left.

Jupiter is a fictional fire engine created by Rob Lee and Brian Anderson. Jupiter's number plate was 999 in Series 1-4. Steven Kynman - Sam Jones, Elvis Cridlington, Norman Price, James Jones and Jerry Lee Cridlington (2008-present) Fireman Sam has also been dubbed in Scottish Gaelic as Sam Smalaidh. Fireman Sam has been aired in over 40 countries around the world and has been dubbed (also translated) in more than 30 languages including Mandarin Chinese. In series 6 Jupiter's front end was facelifted and is taken from the bumper of the Volvo FL6 and lower element of the Dennis Sabre which got modified with new headlamps, a yellow strip and two strobe lights on either side. Jupiter also had two-tone horns which were only used in Flat Tyre, they are seen on either side of the siren.A Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) which has an inbuilt Mapscreen system and various information regarding incidents. The pride of the Pontypandy Fire Service, Jupiter is always on hand to attend all manner of disasters. Expertly driven by Sam and the crew, Jupiter is a welcome sight to anyone in trouble. Always clean and shiny, Jupiter's bright red paintwork and flashing blue lights are a clear sight that help is on the way.

In reality, Norman wouldn't have been able to make Jupiter move by just hitting the accelerator, he would've had to switch Jupiter out of gear and disengage the handbrake. OMC Electronics made a Fireman Sam Kiddie ride in 1993 which is based on the Jupiter from the Original Series with Sam, Elvis and Station Officer Steele inside and 3 Buttons. It plays the Fireman Sam theme tune and the emergency theme. Jupiter had only one blue beacon above the driver's side of the roof and a bell above the passenger's side. Most important: do not say "Fireman Sam is for babies" or anything like this. For more details follow this link: Fireman Sam Wiki:Rules. When HIT Entertainment had bought the “Fireman Sam” franchise and started producing a 5th series, a new model of Jupiter was built, loosely based off the original prop. In 1998, Mitchells Children Rides (formerly R.G. Mitchell) re-made the Fireman Sam kiddie ride with a new Dashboard, and Penny took Station Officer Steele's Place. Jupiter is now an aerial rescue pump receiving elements of the Bedford 6x4 whilst gaining the extra wheelset (retaining the front end elements of the Bedford TK) and can seat three people.
