I've always enjoyed activity books, especially if they form very much a journal style where you have the opportunity to express yourself. The publisher describes this as a scrapbook and there are cues that encourage mixed media opportunities through drawing and writing as well as involving natural discovered elements. There's a plethora of different types of activities and prompts to enjoy. I particularly like that it's very much a book that inspires time outdoors and with nature. Yet, there is a fantasy element where there are activities related to dragons too! Loved it.

Fiona Danks is an environmental educator and author who works with her writing partner Jo Schofield to create beautiful books about the natural world. Jo Schofield gained a degree in psychology from Exeter University and began her career working for an educational psychologist in London. After getting involved in the production of a film, she went on to work in the creative department of a TV advertising agency where she began taking still photographs. This led on to her becoming a commercial photographer in Australia and then London. She worked mainly for national editorial magazines such as Country Living. When her children were small she worked in Watlington Primary School and the Dragon school in Oxford, applying her creative knowledge to the classroom with children aged 6-9 years. More recently she has been focusing on writing and photographing for a series of books with co-author Fiona Danks.Make this Book Wild is a beautiful book designed for children to use nature to fill their book with natural, wild treasures, finds and decor and make lasting and fun discoveries and memories while doing so. I really hate to make this sound so harsh because I do value the ideas here! It's a beautiful book. I just wonder if a 15 year old might enjoy this kind of doodling, etc. more than a 7 year old.
