About this deal

The Silent Patient is a thriller that nails the ending, and for that reason alone I’m inclined to forgive a lot of its imperfections. I was perplexed by the main mystery in this book and felt that gratifying “oh man, I should have guessed this!” feeling when it was revealed. For me, this goes a long way. It is true that those who have read a number of twisty mysteries will likely guess the truth, but I think there's enough goodness here to make it enjoyable anyway. Or it was for me at least. The Today Show' Anchors Go All Out For A Kellyoke-Themed Halloween: Savannah Guthrie as Taylor Swift, Hoda Kotb As Cher, And More Admittedly, I had a hard time putting this one down. So, I didn't. I'm pretty sure that if I were to have read the full book, I would have had the same reaction to it as well. As it stands, the Reader's Digest version made it so I could finish the book in two days.

Southern Charm' Alum Chelsea Meissner Confirms The Birth Of Her First Child: "One Month Postpartum" A young psychiatrist goes head-to-head with a patient with a reputation for driving caregivers mad. Overall, the story keeps your interest and is well-paced. It reads pretty much the way a thriller should read, with plenty of twists and intriguing bits of information doled out at a steady clip. Some Criticisms Let’s start with the good stuff. The premise of this book is fantastic. I was engaged right away. The ending is surprising, even if you guess the twist (I didn’t, but some might), and the way the crucial scene of the book plays out is well done. I was skeptical of whether the book would come together, and I pleasantly surprised that it ultimately does.Alicia Berenson is notorious for an event that happened in the past, but since that horrific incident Alicia hasn't spoken a word. Theo Farber, a psychotherapist, has heard of Alicia over the years through the news and is delighted when a job opening becomes available that would allow him to work directly with Alicia. Will Theo get Alicia talking again? What actually happened all those years ago? The power went out in the hospital now and Jessie finished the surgery. It seemed to go well. Now they had to wait and see how the recovery would go. Jessie was told that they were taking her with them when the left the hospital. Sara seemed to be getting better once again. Carl was staying with her and keeping an eye out for her. All fight seemed to have gone out of him.

For most thrillers, I think, the ending is the make-it-or-break it aspect of the story, and this one is pretty solid. Michaelides’s debut novel is an easy, accessible and entertaining read, and it will undoubtedly make for a thrilling movie if and when that is released. Hana: Oh, he was burned all over in a plane crash so it turned his skin dark. I like dark skin, even when it’s from life-endangering burns! Here's what I think. I think Michael Palmer was a good writer. That said I think every single Muslim on the face of this earth should be demanding a Royalty fee for every single American novelist who has portrayed Bad guys as Terrorist- Muslims. I also think that every single Muslim should demand a huge royalty fee for every American Novelist who has USED 9/11 as the centre of their plot.WHAT the Hell?? Alicia Berenson is such a mysterious, intriguing character and I was trying to figure her out the entire novel. I kept asking myself, " What is up with Alicia?"She is a famous, talented painter and happily married to her husband, Gabriel. They live in London and have a cozy life. Need Help?

On a rainy Saturday, Michael Ondaatje was on the Podcast introducing his new novel Warlight. It just felt the right time to do the long-overdue catchup on his best-known book. I pretty much finished in one sitting, and was totally blown away.

I thought this book was ok. I would say that I enjoyed it, but I can't say that it is one that will stay with me, nor one I will keep and choose to reread. Me: Well, yeah, I kind of need more than that! But I’m not going to get any more explanation from you am I?? He was born to a Burgher family of Dutch-Tamil-Sinhalese-Portuguese origin. He moved to England with his mother in 1954. After relocating to Canada in 1962, Ondaatje became a Canadian citizen. Ondaatje studied for a time at Bishops College School and Bishop's University in Lennoxville, Quebec, but moved to Toronto and received his BA from the University of Toronto and his MA from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario and began teaching at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. In 1970 he settled in Toronto. From 1971 to 1988 he taught English Literature at York University and Glendon College in Toronto.I feel like I should preface my review by stating that I have read A LOT of psychological thrillers, and coupling that with the fact that this was my most anticipated read of 2019 gave The Silent Patient a great deal of pressure. This will still be an overall positive review, but I felt I had to include some honest thoughts here as well for those readers who may need their expectations in line like I clearly did. This is a novel of revelation, and just as the identity of the English patient is slowly revealed as the novel progresses, so too are the inner selves and spiritual identities of the other characters in the novels. Every sentence is beautifully crafted and evocative, keeping you completely enthralled in the story. The story reaches across all boundaries of time and space to connect with people from all walks of life. Each of us who reads the story as the author intended, will find many connections with the story and its characters.
