In addition to the control calibration and customization options provided by iRacing, most wheels also have their own settings included in their provided software that can help the user fine-tune the feel of their steering.

Find the Right Handbrake for Any Racing Wheel [Xbox, PS4, PC]

Select "Use linear mode" if you are using a direct drive wheel, leaving this option off boosts smaller forces and can make lower end gear driven wheel such as the Logitech G27, G29, G920, and G923 feel more lively. I am wondering whether instead of tapping into the wheel, why not tap into the shifter (say gear 5) and connect it to a momentary switch and remap gear 5 as handbrake in-game. This way we could use shifter with Sequential mod and a physical handbrake. Thrustmaster TSS Handbrake Sparco Mod+ is fully compatible with Thrustmaster TX and TS-XW racing wheels on Xbox One. Alternatively, you can use the Fanatec or Aiologs handbrake with the help of DriveHub accesorry on Xbox One. The latter is a much cheaper and better option in my opinion. Handbrake for Thrustmaster TMX, TMX Pro and Ferrari 458 Spider on Xbox One If you find that your virtual wheel is out of sync with your physical wheel at higher steering angles, turn the wheel 360 degrees to either direction so that it has completed a full rotation, then adjust the map range until the virtual wheel is pointing straight ahead. Tapping into L2/L3/R2/R3 and using a momentary switch connected to a handbrake - sacrifice wheel warranty. The base also has a textured heel grip to keep your feet from slipping. The feature sounds promising on paper but, in practice, it was rather ineffective at keeping my foot on the pedals. To change your Primary controller, open the start menu, type "controller" and select the search result: Unplug the controller and plug it into a different USB port on the computer. Avoid using USB hubs if you are experiencing issues with your controller.

Relentlessly engineered for the perfect driving experience, Driving Force by Logitech G takes the latest racing games to the highest level. You simply haven’t experienced racing simulation if you haven’t grabbed your supercar by the wheel. If you are not sure which type of pedals you have, please consult with the manufacturer. Most pedals that are not advertised explicitly as load cell pedals use potentiometers. For more information on importing LGS preset profiles, see Import racing wheel profiles using Logitech Gaming Software.Calibrate the throttle by depressing the throttle fully, releasing it to ~5% activation, and selecting Done while the control is still sightly activated: For oval racers starting out, I highly recommend this wheel. It has everything you need, including all the controls for adjustments when in the virtual driver's seat. Asphalt road: 8.5/10

muge racing 64Bit PC USB Handbrake with Clamp SIM for Racing

When considering most motorsport fans around the world, road course racing is the most popular with series like Formula One, IMSA, and IndyCar. When testing out a wheel, I had to try my hand at taking left and right turns on road courses. No additional setup is required to run multiple controllers, such as a dedicated pedal, shifter, or handbrake controller. As long as the controller is functional by itself, it can be calibrated and assigned without any additional steps. The last thing I wanted to test is how the wheel feels when the car transitions from one surface to another. Like curbs, it felt very realistic but it also made the loud noise when I hit the surface a certain way. Dirt oval: 6.5/10

Bottom line

A sim racing setup is incomplete without a handbrake. For all the drifting fans out there, and especially for those interested in rally games like DiRT, a handbrake is a very essential accessory. Most people assign the handbrake function to a button on the wheel, which works fine for occasional engagement. It’s only when you’re making hairpin turns, and desperately need to be perfect, you realise that you need a handbrake solution; because every split second matters.
