Fwiw I've run a similar set up with metal pads which wore the rotors the same way but all worked fine and without any issues.

Mountain bike brake pads should be checked on a regular basis so that you know you can come to a safe stop, even in testing weather conditions. Credit subject to status, UK residents only, Wiggle Ltd (In Administration) acts as a broker and offers finance from a restricted range of finance providers. The HD-R290 brakes spec sheet does not indicate the pad to use - except that it must be resin, but finding subsitutes to the F10BS is possible. We’d say that as long as it fits your budget and meets your expectations in terms of features/spec…it’s a really strong contender.

The disadvantage is that Hydraulic disc brakes systems are several times more expensive than mechanical disc brakes. Our range includes bikes from some of the worlds largest brands including Trek, Giant, Liv, Kona, GT, Polygon, Reid and over 250 more quality bike brands. Check to make sure the caliper is at the right high and pads are only contacting the main track along the rotors. Hydraulic disc brakes use a non-compressible fluid to push both pads towards the rotor the result is improved braking power and modulation.

Whilst this isn’t the best indicator to decide if it’s the best in class, you can use it as a guide to see how it compares to other disc-brake-pads. When you purchase Shimano brake pad sets, it is advisable to take extra caution and make sure to purchase Shimano's genuine products through an authorized retailer or reseller.
