The EU Allergen Free label is for the 26 ingredients identified by the EU SCCS and products will be only flagged if a suspected ingredient is on it's ingredient list. It is possible for cosmetics to contain one of the suspect ingredients without it appearing on the ingredient list due to it not reaching the concentration threshold to disclose it and cosmetic manufacturers choice to not disclose it. Skin Aqua Tone Up UV Essence (Lavender) is a “toning up” sunscreen or sunscreen that has a “brightening effect,” that is SPF50+ / PA++++. Its lavender color is the key to the “brightening effect” that would help even out any skin tone. The lavender color, which is made of two colors, “blue” and “pink,” are important factors that help give the skin a natural-looking finish. The “pink” would help bring out a lively “blood-like” color, and the “blue” would help give a transparent effect. Also, the sunscreen has a pearl-like look, making the skin look glowy naturally. I’ve been using the Skin Aqua UV Super Moisture Gel for quite a few weeks now and I can say I like this sunscreen a lot. It takes less than 30 seconds for the product to absorb and create a film on the skin. In this way, one can know if the sunscreen is ready for protection or not.

Those with oil skin may understandably be concerned that a sunscreen may make their skin worse. That does not however, need to be the case. In fact, with the right sunscreen your skin can look better than ever before. Our favourite sunscreen for those with oily skin is without a doubt the Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF42. Another pro is that lavender oil has some nice antimicrobial and antibacterial properties. It also has some localpain relieving and muscle relaxing magical powers. Lavender oil is also often claimed to have anti-inflammatory properties. We have found a study confirming this but it was the essential oil of the leaves and not the much more commonly used flowers and the two differ in their main chemical compounds very much. (The main components of the flower essential oil are linalyl acetate and linalool [around 80% the two together] while it is 1,8-Cineole [around 65%] in the essential oil of the leaves.) However some sulfates are so good at their job, they can wash off your skin’s own natural oils that keep it moisturised and protected which can lead to dryness and irritation.

Additionally, products that may contain ingredients that have shown to feed Malassezia may not neccessarily exacerbate the condition due to concentration of ingredient used in the product, this information is simply not available on the products. True to its claims the sunscreen is waterproof and sweatproof. For my best friend’s oily skin the sunscreen held up pretty good and she could see the sunscreen at the end of the day without even re-applying it. On my dry skin, the alcohol was pretty harsh and I could see my face craving for moisture at the end of the day. So I avoid using this every day. Overall, my makeup had no signs of cakiness, clumpiness nor did not budge at all, even after hours! Because the product has hyaluronic acid in it, it helped to keep my makeup on my skin throughout the day!
