Araújo’s deep dive detail in his artwork helps to pull readers into Sonny’s world and provide a stronger emotional connection with Sonny’s troubles, like trying to find his favorite pack of cigarettes. About assassins operating on the Dark Web, this comic series sees Mr Wen trying to prevent one such assassination and getting highly involved with all sorts of nasty folk. I have no issue with this at all, in fact I prefer reading in trade or at least longer form storytelling than 20-odd pages, but from a review perspective I’m going to let this one complete its first arc and then come back for the full thing.

You really wanna know more about him, but besides a short visit to his mom and some doubtful choices his intentions stay in the dark. I’d even go so far as to say it’s his best comic in years, though that’s only because he’s put out a lotta crap in the last eight or so years! Both were stories about perseverance in the face of insurmountable odds in which the protagonist made a perilous journey.

I’m really enjoying how this book is set out with the multiple panels and the reserved use of dialogue for the protagonist, Sonny. However, the abundance of silent sequences might hinder full emotional investment in the plot's development. Well, time to hit the old dusty trail with a couple other targets and a buncha people with guns chasing you and hope you don’t get too wet!

Most of it is dialogue, so it’s all about caring for the subtle acting, the facial expressions, the body language and leaving room for balloons. When an unassuming man stops a vicious dark webcontract assassin from killing their target, he turns himself into one.

We also use them to help detect unauthorized access or activity that violate our terms of service, as well as to analyze site traffic and performance for our own site improvement efforts. It eventually zoom into Vancouver’s Chinatown (which Araújo captured with a staggering decree of accuracy), and eventually we find ourselves with a glimpse of our protagonist. Chris O’Halloran’s colouring is a perfect accompaniment to Araujo’s art and his subtle palette really catches the eye. We worked really hard on crafting this story with all the care we could muster, investing everything we had into the storytelling and narrative.So many questions are left open, holding the tension of the story together as one proceeds through it. I really enjoyed the laid-back, slow burn of that first issue, which read like a slice-of-life comic before segueing violently into a gory actioner. It reminded me of the first titles from Image Comics I was interested in, with an underlying mystery plot told in a bold and innovative way. You can only guess where the whole story is going, which is good and exciting, but i hope the next issue is going to give some conclusion.

Based off the contents of the issue and the premise of the novel, we know that this story is going to be a particular kind of violent. In perhaps a potential meta commentary on where the story is headed, the unassuming preamble that is A Righteous Thirst for Vengeance belies a much more brutal, much more sinister story.visits wealthy couple and sees they’re killed then you pose as someone to see you hats going on and then save the next supposed victim. This vol takes readers on a journey filled with mystery and tension, yet struggles to maintain a consistently engaging pace. The captivating elements of violent tragedy, crime mysteries, car chases, and shootouts add flavor to the narrative. No spoilers here, if you like a simple tale of revenge, with some thriller-y elements, this is for you. When an unassuming man stumbles upon a dark-web contract assassin’s vicious plot to kill an innocent target, he turns himself into one.
