Wildlife holidays For Lapland is totally unique, and sleeping in a glass igloo really is the perfect way to compliment the sense of otherworldliness that any time spent in this incredible landscape is bound to conjure up. And this resort hits the dark-sky sweet spot, despite being just 15 miles south of regional gateway Whitehorse and its airport. The name gives the game away: here you can get your northern lights groove on in a glass-fronted aurora chalet without sacrificing luxury. A spa, a restaurant bigging up seasonal flavours, and all manner of snow fun, from ice fishing to snowshoeing, plug the gaps perfectly between aurora-gazing moments. And also in this space behind the bed was an inbuilt Bluetooth speaker, so you could hook up your phone, laptop or tablet and enjoy music, radio or your favourite TV show whilst relaxing with a full Lapland view – bliss. Highly recommended to anyone with babies” Information for venues and early years settings And this is also thanks to the fact that each glass igloo also has its own high-speed wifi connection – lightning-fast and easy to connect to – this was just another feature that shows how the glass igloos in Lapland are the best way to experience small and sustainable accommodation that doesn’t compromise on style and modern amenities. We are remounting Igloo in response to a direct need from local nurseries and community partners for an accessible, non-verbal production for early years settings. Nurseries and children’s centres have told us that they cannot afford to take children on a theatre trip or to bring creative practitioners in to support them with creative play. The tour has been designed to reach areas of socio-economic need, where children would not otherwise access the arts, both through community performances that are open to families, and engaging directly with children in their early years settings. Fundraising to support this tour Because, while it’s worth pointing out that I did visit Lapland in the winter – December to be specific – the glass igloos at the Arctic Guesthouse are also great for a summer trip.
