Without looking at any of the ingredients or notes I would have categorized this as a woody blue scent but with enough aromatic and boozy qualities to disguise it as something else.

The notes look similar to the original with the addition of leather, sandalwood etc which do happen to be some of my favorite notes so I guess we will see! Any fragrance connoisseur knows the original La Nuit - this flanker is a bold and daring departure from that legendary DNA to darker and more adventurous territory and let us unpack it very briefly: This is a dense and enveloping fragrance loaded to the rafters with cardamom, leather and Tonka to create an aura of fire around any so daring as to wear the scent. From the other hand from the La nuit line we only have the OG as all the others have been discontinued. So it is very safe to say that reformulations have ruined the performance of this once beastly fragrance. No this isn't a more potent version of La nuit, It's a completely different fragrance and superior to the OG la nuit, in my opinion.

I have noticed most of my collection have become skin scents but the locals keep asking my fiancé what perfume I wear because they can still smell me as I walk by and they love it. smells like a guy who has it put together, more of a date night cologne, but honestly try layton if you like this, i feel like the other 5 guys at the bar are wearing this, and you won't stand out, or her dad or ex wears this, and it's not the impression that you think it is. I utterly appreciate the fact that it sits close to the skin, rather than announce its arrival with a huge 'LOOK AT ME! Dominique Ropion is a very talented perfumer but I get the feeling that every time a big hitter comes on the selves what has preceded is a conversation of the sort “throw a few pleasant aromachemicals, make it a tad sweet, polish the angles to the point of dullness and let’s throw it in the market to see what happens”. It blows all the other date night fragrances and Dolce and gabbana's the one wishes it was as good a la nuit.
