There is always a sense of family in her books and it's no different in this one. Family isn't always blood relatives, and blood relatives aren't always family. We make family out of what we can. Out of friends and colleagues and sometimes eve strangers. To summarize, New Beginnings on Railway Lane is a cute, sweet, and light-hearted romance with strong supporting characters and a charming setting. This works great as a standalone but will be more enjoyable if you read book one. Workaholic Katy Smith is made redundant at the 5-star hotel she managed and achieved great heights. With the industry in a slump, Katy doesn’t find good job opportunities despite her glowing career graph. Drunk and sad, she applies for a job at random to find out that it’s neither a hotel nor an active railway station. But a job is a job, isn’t it?

The characters are likeable and there are no pesky misunderstandings to get in the way. Just a simple, straightforward plot sprinkled with romance. In a last ditch effort, Bob's son Ethan places an advert online to find someone to sort through his father's belongings, then leaves town and hands the responsibility to his brother Ryan, a successful chef in Italy. He never expects for the advert to be successful; but then he meets Katy. A manager for 5 star hotels who was recently made redundant, she's reluctant to consider a job outside of London. However after meeting Bob and realising the extent of the issue, she agrees to stay for a week and do what she can. I loved that the setting for the majority of the book was the old train station itself and the surrounding buildings. It was such a fun way to incorporate the characters from book 1 who only live down the lane and so became frequent faces as they passed through. I would love to see books focusing on Ryan/Libby or Flora next!! Bedroom 3 - 3.56m (4.06m max) x 2.67m (11'8" (13'4" max) x 8'9 - having a sealed unit double glazed front window, radiator, inset ceiling spotlights and TV aerial point.

White suite comprising:bath with shower over, cabinet wash hand basin, w/c, tiled flooring, ceiling light point and window to rear. This time we met Ryan, son of Bob and him and his brother Ethan have returned home after their mother has left their father for another man.

Upon awakening with a hangover, she discovers a message revealing that she applied for a job in a place she's never heard of: Cranfield, a quaint English village. Katy considers herself a city girl and prefers London over the countryside, with its insects and all.The station is the first to benefit from battery technology on the new trains for the Merseyrail network, removing the need to extend the third rail beyond the existing Kirkby station. That technology could enable the Merseyrail network in the future to run to places previously inaccessible, including as far as Wrexham, Warrington, Preston and Runcorn.
