Description

In spite of its potentially misleading title, "The Mother" is an extremely well executed mystery thriller that begins with an intriguing hook and keeps the reader gripped until the final page. I was glad that the timescale that had lapsed was only ten years, as anything longer always makes these types of stories harder to swallow.

The Curfew: The utterly gripping Sunday Times bestselling

I've always hated books or movies related to political corruption, conspiracy theories etc, maybe because i hate politics in general. It was made into a four-part drama for Channel 5 starring Jill Halfpenny and Owen McDonnell, now available on Netflix UK. Newly released on licence Heather is determined to discover who actually murdered her husband so that she can clear her name and be reunited with her sons. M. Logan is a master of misdirection' Sharon Bolton 'A true single-sitting read, The Mother is the best yet from the master of the heartbreaking, heart-pounding, head-spinning thriller' Ellery Lloyd, author of PEOPLE LIKE HER 'A propulsive, unrelentingly compelling thriller' B. Sharply written and deeply emotive , The Mother is a gripping thriller that kept me turning the pages late into the night. It has since been made into a four-part TV drama starring Jill Halfpenny and currently available on Netflix UK.

The Mother by T.M. Logan | Goodreads

A couple of this author's novels have already been adapted and brought to the screen and I would be amazed if "The Mother" doesn't follow suit. As she wakes up with not much recollection as to why she feels so groggy, her world as she knew it would never be the same. Unusually the opening chapter is actually almost the end of the story and the end of the story is a real shocker. The characters were completely investible, which made the events even more tense and the worry from the reader, palpable. However, the person who should be in the coffin is watching from the wings we then get to discover more about the life of Heather. A wife convicted of her husbands death, serving her time in prison and at the end on her release hiding watching the funeral of her spouse from afar, not only that, her sons too who she’s unable to communicate with.

The Mother: The relentlessly gripping, utterly unmissable

Nine years later having served time in prison for the murder of her husband, she’s out having lost everything and is desperate to prove her innocence and get her beloved boys back. A pacy murder mystery full of deceit, suspicion and revenge, Chris McDonald’s debut is a highly entertaining tale with plenty of shocks along the way. T.M Logan excels in creating relatable, well-drawn characters and I was fully invested in the web of secrets and lies between them as the book raced to a dramatic denouement.

But the more he digs and the more obsessed he becomes, the more he alienates his daughter and his wife, who are both convinced Ryan is The One.

The Mother: The brand new up-all-night thriller from the

The Mother has just shot up to being my favourite book by Logan which is an impressive feat as I have pretty much loved all of his other books. I felt like the story was disjointed, I didn't have all the information Heather had, the characters felt one-dimensional. From its propulsive opening to its devastating finale, That Night explores the terrible cost of family loyalty and the lines all of us might cross for those we love. Now that she is out of jail, she is determined to find out the truth about who really killed him to clear her name and get her children back. But, she has an unlikely ally in her sister in law who appears to be on her side, plus a journalist who wants to help her find the truth.
