There’s some good stuff here, and although things can get a bit repetitive it’s a solid foundation should AEW follow up with another game. AEW Fight Forever is a professional wrestling video game developed by Yuke's and published by THQ Nordic. It is the debut title on home consoles and personal computers based on American professional wrestling promotion All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Single, tag-team, 3-way, 4-way, ladder, Casino Battle Royale, Falls Count Anywhere, Unsanctioned Lights Out, Exploding Barbed Wire Death and online co-op multi-player matches! Although other titles may have taken this to the extreme, none encapsulated this fun arcade style more than WWF No Mercy for the N64, which many STILL claim to be the best wrestling game ever, over 20 years after it came out.

There’s no particularly standout accessibility features in AEW Fight Forever, at least at launch. However, players may want to enable the easy counters feature if you’re having trouble getting the timing right on reversing strikes and grapples. Along the way you can trigger various cutscenes too, where you interact with other members of the roster. With your momentum meter full, doing a taunt now will put you in the "Special" state, which is even better than a Signature! There are some more charming elements, though. Your superstar will often run into others on the roster during text-based events. These aren’t anything special, but the writing is deliciously cheesy in all the right ways, acting as a decent incentive to plow through your matches week after week. Arenas look OK, and with 7 different locations to choose from almost all of AEW’s sets are represented (Forbidden Door being the most glaring omission.)

Picture Fortnite, but with the roster of AEW, fighting it out in various parts of a football stadium. Appealing to old-school fans is critical when it comes to sales of wrestling games, which is why WWE repeatedly crams its sim offerings, and more offbeat efforts such as WWE 2K Battlegrounds, full of famous names from yesteryear. Note: Just like you can in WWE 2K23, in AEW Fight Forever you can also perform taunts while holding a weapon. The key to winning a match in AEW Fight Forever is taking hold of its pacing. Your Momentum Meter is crucial for that.
