However, these qualities will vanish the moment bass kicks in mainly because they lack extension which prevents them from having this sort of airiness and presence to them. To assist you in traveling, P5 comes with a very unique padded quilted soft storage bag, though you have to be very secure in your masculinity since it does look like a make-up purse (an actual comment from my wife).

Also, due to a connection with a removable cable inside of the earcup, I didn't sense any microphonics effect. but I keep trying to get in all my cans the sound that I love from my 10 year old Beyer DT880 (impossible I know, Beyer has a unique signature sound). The headband and earpads are covered in a smooth black leather that adds to the high-end appeal of these headphones.View image in fullscreen The left ear cup has a microUSB port for charging and a power slider, which puts the headphones into pairing mode if held down for a couple of seconds. That means you have to manually dig into Bluetooth settings on the phone and reconnect – an unnecessary few steps which are simple but get frustrating fast.

The buttons offer decent tactile feedback but they are a bit narrow, which could be bothersome for larger hands. At top, unwise listening levels, the headphones do not distort on this track, and at moderate, reasonable listening levels, the sense of bass is still palpable and well-defined. However, they're thinly padded, that, coupled with the on-ear design makes them feel slightly uncomfortable and tight at first. Earcups are attached on one side to a solid curved chrome metal double wire that waves into the headband.Wired was close in comparison, but had just a little more depth in soundstage and a little more sub-bass. However, they struggle to block the ambient noise of loud environments and won't be ideal if you have a busy daily commute or plan to take them on a noisy flight. Comparing to V-Moda XS, P5 bass is head'n'shoulders above XS, while upper mids/lower treble is brighter and harsher in XS. In more detailed analysis, low end has a textured sub-bass rumble that can put a smile even on a basshead face, and an aggressive punch of the fast mid-bass. The front-to-rear and top-to-bottom positioning of the P5 is on-par with the HD25 and not quite as good as the MS400.

The solid acoustic seal makes for great bass response–visceral and powerful but tight and natural-sounding, with relatively flat extension down to approximately 60Hz. But either way, it's definitely a luxurious "designer" type of a carry case which goes along with a whole luxurious design of these headphones. To power them off just slide them again as you would when powering them on and they should power off immediately. As before with the original P5s, you get two cables in the box: one with in-line microphone and remote control, one without. And speaking of other wireless headphones, here is a comparison with some other on-ear and over-ear models (Meelec Touch, Meelec Matrix 2, Stance S1+, and Momentum 2 Wireless). Also, during a testing with my Note 4 in a pocket and while covering earcups with my hands, the wireless connection was still solid.

The overall presentation is like that of expensive jewelry, not affordable consumer-electronics gear. However, they won't maintain a stable fit under strenuous conditions like running or intense exercises at the gym. However, they can feel a little tight on your head, and they also don't prevent ambient noise from seeping into your audio.
