This reads more as an introductory guide and would be suitable for younger readers although it is classed as adult fiction. Like Adam Allsuch Boardman’s earlier work with Nobrow Press, An Illustrated History of UFOs, An Illustrated History of Ghosts is a stylishly produced, colorful piece of graphic art that provides a basic but thorough introduction to ghostly myths and legends throughout the world. They were so detailed and I could spend hours looking at the end papers and finding something new that I may have missed. We also use them to help detect unauthorized access or activity that violate our terms of service, as well as to analyze site traffic and performance for our own site improvement efforts.

The illustrations are beautiful, very soft and inviting, allowing you to concentrate on the facts whilst providing good context for the information. It is not really a book for somebody who has a deep knowledge on the topic already, more of a general overview, but it is still, in my opinion, worth picking up, especially for Halloween time. this book is a real gem for a young ghost hunter in your life (and haven't we all gone through that phase?

It looks beautiful as a ‘coffee table book’, the illustrations and fun and it’s definitely something for paranormal enthusiasts. As someone with an interest in this subject, I could follow it fine but I don't know how a new to subject reader would fare. A quickfire tour through the history of ghosts throughout history and different cultures, myths and legend, right through to modern 19th-21st century experiences and their use in pop culture.

I guess I just read too many magic books as a kid and am used to the "A good magician never reveals his secrets" stick. So as the days slowly start to get darker and because Halloween was just around the corner it seemed the perfect time to read this book.

It covers ghost stories, ghosts in media, haunted houses, places, objects, ghost hunters, ghosts in different cultures…the list goes on.
