Description

The game continues until one player or one team has placed all of their Control Markers on locations. Locations are a special kind of hex, indicated on the board with green knotwork symbols. If you have any pics of games in progress or upgrades you’ve added to your game feel free to share. Place the board in the middle of the play area. For a two-player game, each player chooses a faction and takes 1 matching bag, 1 Royal Coin, and 6 Control Markers. So what, at first sight, might seem like totally random choices actually gives players quite tactical decisions to make, as you can work out what pieces the other player might have available. You can work out that positioning and movements based on what units your opponent has or has not recruited. The meta game of counting the units presents an added level of depth to War Chest. However, players might not grasp this on their first play though depending on their experience level. The placing of units face-down or face-up adds further depth to the unit counting and elevates the game.

Out the box, FARSIGHT supports up to four players – great value, compared to many war games. But that is just the tip of the iceberg – the core box also contains a blank map, with cards to customise the terrain for each game, offering billions of potential layouts. If that wasn’t enough, there are also enough units in the box for each player to build a completely unique custom army to wage war with! Choose a coin from your hand and put it facedown into your discard pile (Do not show it to your opponent). Put your faction's Royal Coin into your bag, and place one of your Control Markers onto each of the two matching starting locations on the board. The other locations are neutral at the start of the game. At the start of the game, raise your banner call (drafting) several various units into your army, which you then use to capture key points on the board.

At the start of the round, each player draws 3 coins from their bag and puts them in their hand, hidden from their opponent. At any time that you need to draw coins and your bag is empty, refill it with the coins in your discard pile. In very rare circumstances you may have only one or two coins between your hand and discard pile. If this happens, draw the coins that you have. Starting with the player with the Initiative Marker, you and your opponent now take turns taking actions using the coins in your hands, one at a time, until both your hands are empty. Each coin can used be used to perform a single action.

You may only have one unit of each type on the board at a time. This means you cannot deploy a unit if you already have a unit of that type on the board. If the matching unit occupies a location controlled by your opponent, return their Control Marker to them and replace it with one of your Control Markers.Take any one coin from your supply, show it to your opponent, and put it face-up into your discard pile.

Each player has a set of coins representing different units, which will be different for each player; each unit behave differently from the others. The initiative marker goes to one player, but the other player from the same team cannot take it as an action

Control a location that you occupy by discarding a coin that matches the a unit on the board on a control space. If the space contains an opponent's control marker, this is returned to the player. During the Use Coins phase this round, you will not perform the usual three actions. After you've played your last coin, your opponent continues to play coins and take actions until their hand is empty.

Control the location where the unit stands, by placing your control marker on the space or swapping your opponent's control marker with your own (Note: 1 Control marker per space, i.e. you cannot "bolster" control to have 2+ control markers on same space)

Note, each player will need to keep an area separate to their supply that will be their discard pile. It is from the discard pile that you refill your bag when you need more coins, not from the supply. War Chest is an all-new bag-building war game! At the start of the game, raise your banner call (drafting) several various units into your army, which you then use to capture key points on the board. To succeed in War Chest, you must successfully manage not only your armies on the battlefield, but those that are waiting to be deployed. If you already have the Initiative Marker, or had it earlier this round, you may not perform this action. The Initiative Marker may only transfer between players once per round. Can you add these four new influential units to your force, and use royal proclamations to your advantage, to once again triumph in this masterful game of tactical warfare? Deploy– Allows you to place a coin from your hand face-up on the board on a location that you control. You control a location if you have a control marker present on the corresponding space.
