He also noted how he was explained to be "an extremely dangerous man who has undoubtedly committed other murders" at the trialone in which the detectives spoke to the court. Having always been very intrigued about the murder of Bob Magill and the unusual details surrounding it (what with it being a local crime and clouded in controversy) I was naturally very keen to read Kevin lanes side of the story. Kevin Lane Standing in the gym showers, faced with two dangerous criminals hellbent on inflicting serious violence on me. How the freedom of a hard working, considerate and most importantly, innocent, man was stolen in a tripartite collusion between the two original suspects in the case and a detective who has to be one of the most criminally corrupt police officers in modern times. The BMW car allegedly used as the getaway vehicle was traced, and one of Lane’s palm prints was found on a bin-liner in the boot. Also it exposes the use of public interest immunity certificates to keep important evidence hidden from police view. And takes readers on the journey of the author- Kevin Lane, a hard working, considerate and innocent person, who spent more than 20 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. He highlights a similarity between the two killings too as he wrote: "In the Magill murder a witness describes one of the men brazenly smiling as he drove away from the scene.

Its long been a suspicion also of mine that forensics in UK are in bed with the local police and prosecution and they will blind novices with science to speak outlandish things that simply are not true leading to many unsafe convictions. This information is believed to be derived from police sources to influence the very weak case that was alleged against him. The majority of pages are undamaged with some creasing or tearing, and pencil underlining of text, but this is minimal. The book leaves the reader with a sense of anger at the injustice that Kevin Lane has had to suffer but also hope, in that he has managed to retain his sense of humour and faith in human nature. Not withstanding the original leading suspect in the murder trial, Rodger Vincent, engaged in 'off the record' confidential chats, with Detective Spackman.

Lane, now 53, was convicted after two trials on a majority verdict of murdering Magill, who had been out walking his dog in Rickmansworth. It’s totally unbelievable that he served that amount of time for a crime he so obviously didn’t commit. Glammenport impressed me immediately - the standard of the writing was high and the descriptions were vivid, the characterisation strong. Can you please take a minute of your time to support Kevin by signing and sharing this petition through your social media? After a second trial in 1996, Kevin was convicted, by a ten to two majority jury, on circumstantial evidence, at the infamous Court 2, of the Old Bailey. Vincent was acquitted of the Magill killing, but he and Smith were back in court for murder in 2005 and were jailed for life.
