Description

There was some good stuff in here, but nothing you won’t already hear if you go to an NCT course before your birth. Giving birth—however you choose to do it—is truly the most amazing thing you will experience in your life, and meeting your precious baby for the first time is one of life's most unforgettable moments. There are other chapters that I didn't elaborate on in this review that includes helpful guidelines for decision making, explanation about induction, how to practice hypnobirthing during a cesarean birth, and even a complete packing list for a birth bag—information that is good to know for when it's needed. I really recommend all my first time moms so just any mom to be to read this book and know that you can definitely do it and there’s such peace to come after reading it. In generale però il piglio dell’autrice l’ho trovato molto spesso fastidioso (imho) e ripetitivo fino alla nausea.

I also enjoyed that it explained different birth types and so even if things don't go to plan, the relaxation techniques can be put to use e. There were some really good takeaways from this book, and I particularly liked the science behind the labour. Her practical advice will be sure to give you enough tools to enable you to feel calm and collected throughout labour - Natasha Harding, Sun --This text refers to the paperback edition. Reading the title, I thought this would be about hypnosis, but it's actually about breaking a cycle of fear and trying to create an environment where the mum-to-be can relax and allow her body to work its natural magic. Third, to manage the environment, whether it's at home, birth centre, or hospital, to create an atmosphere of relaxation and comfort. As much as I agree and understand that "modern" birthing methods are not always the best, to be so heavily negative towards hospital births gave me no choice but to stop reading for my own mental wellbeing.

I like the breathing techniques and visualizations best so far and want to try doing them to help me relax through the different stages of labor. Throughout my pregnancy, I've been trying to read several books that will prepare me for what's to come. I'm due in 3 weeks and already feeling confident, happy and informed so I'm simply not the target audience for this. This book has given me the chance to understand the choices I have within the birth centre/hospital and I can't wait to use some of the techniques.

By the time you finish this book you'll feel relaxed, capable and genuinely excited about giving birth. The keys seem to be, first, to replace the TV vision of birth in your head with "positive birth stories", of which there are many. It's not dogmatic about birth needing to be 'natural', and the author says to be ready for changes to the plan, and that a C-section is just as positive as a vaginal birth if it feels positive.

Conversely, positive feelings can encourage relaxation, which reduces tension, which reduces pain, which reduces fear. So I came across this book and it has really helped her, a great gift for your pregnant friend for sure. HYPNOBIRTHING is an invaluable technique for EVERY woman with a baby inside her uterus and for EVERY type of birth -- from a natural water birth through to an unplanned caesarean.Information like birth shouldn't be painful in the majority of cases, that Hollywood depictions are dramatic and wrong can be good for mindset but there are parts where, although she doesn't recommend anything outright, strongly suggesting not to induce because the risk of stillborn going for 4/10000 to 6/10000 is still as small risk and it doesn't matter "how a baby makes it into the world as much as how you feel about bringing the baby into the world" presupposes a successful outcome that would result in more dead babies if applied as a policy to everyone giving birth.
