Irrespective of the source, all of our collectables meet our strict grading and are 100% guaranteed. The 50th Anniversary Edition will be released on triple-vinyl and triple-CD, both of which features the original album; a disc of three studio outtakes from the original ‘Harvest’ sessions (‘Bad Loneliness’, ‘Journey Through The Past’ and ‘Dance Dance Dance’); and an unreleased live BBC solo performance.

The band on the album had also played with Neil on Harvest: Ben Keith, Spooner Oldham, Tim Drummond, and Kenny Buttrey. A number of luminaries—including James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and Graham Nash—also appear. Though I often consider vinyl to be a bit like wine - worn vinyl has probably been thoroughly enjoyed and played often - you could keep vinyl unplayed or wine unopened but in both cases you don’t enjoy it!Harvest, Neil Young’s fourth album, proved even more popular than its predecessor, After the Gold Rush. Americana - steel, guitar, slide guitar, banjo - stripped down and rebuilt with every jagged edge exposed. Here, Young does not use Crazy Horse, the band that plays on his previous two efforts, Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere and After the Gold Rush. Language - Regardless of country of origin all tracks are sung in English, unless otherwise stated in our description. His usual dissonant touches, like the otherworldly guitar in Out On The Weekend, are less spooky in this new context. During “A Man Needs a Maid,” the lower register on Young’s piano feels more emphatic, which makes for a less-abrupt transition to Nitzsche’s arrangement for the London Symphony Orchestra. I speculated at the time that considering Chris Bellman claimed to be working from the original analogue masters, perhaps they had suffered unduly and were beginning to fade. The reverb on Young’s voice sounds more vivid and he is placed more securely out in front of the ensemble.

Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. I’m very late to the Neil Young party, he’s one of those artists I’ve known about but just never really listened to. Neil Young, like Bob Dylan, has so influenced so many musicians that it’s natural to focus on him rather than think of other bands. Condition - This item is in Excellent condition or better (unless it says otherwise in the above description). The former effort topped the Billboard album charts for two weeks in 1972 and yielded the hit singles “Old Man” and “Heart of Gold.

On “Are You Ready for the Country,” Nitzsche’s slide guitar now cuts through with added sharpness and affords the music a more buoyant quality. My personal opinion of the most recent vinyl reissue of Harvest (Neil Young Archives) was that it was beautifully presented and also very nicely cut and pressed.

Young’s fourth solo album remains one of the most beloved in his catalog and is dense with songs that have long-permeated radio waves. The first is Harvest Time, an unreleased two-hour film shot during the making of Harvest, with footage from Young’s ‘Harvest Barn’ sessions in Northern California, recording sessions in Nashville and London. I compared the original and the 2009 Reprise pressing of Harvest to the very good Nautilus Super Disc edition from 1982.Mastering and soundstaging have achieved an effect whereby it sounds like Neil is sitting in my living room playing casually. The lovely Unknown Legend, From Hank to Hendrix, and the beautiful Harvest Moon are among Young's best songs. Harvest Moon, Neil Young’s 19th studio album, was first released in 1992 and has since become one of Young’s most loved and successful albums.
