Description

If your baby is 5-9 months old they are only starting to learn how to sit in the highchair. You may need to guide their feet to sit flat on the Footsi® and as they grow they will get used to using it. We have to remember at only circa 6 months, bubs have no idea how to use a footrest, but we know it’s good for their trunk stability so we have to teach them how and why it’s important. It’s kind of like feeding them vegetables, they may not like them just yet, but we know it’s good for them! Putting these bamboo footrests on your IKEA highchair will promote better trunk support and posture, which ultimately leads to happier, safer weaning. Making baby weaning much more comfortable and enjoyable for you and your baby. This bamboo highchair footrest will help to promote correct posture and stability during mealtimes and allow children to increase their motor skills and improve their levels of concentration, which in turn encourages a better feeding and learning experience.

A baby chair will keep your baby completely safe while seated, offering a secure opportunity to explore new foods. Being able to join the family at the table will make the little one happier and can help ease them into the new routine. It’ll also keep your baby at your height, making the feeding process easier for you too. Like all our highchair accessories, it was designed with functionality and aesthetics in mind.

How do you want to use your ottoman?

Please note the following estimated delivery times. These times are an estimate only and will vary according to the time of year. Wood naturally varies in color, saturation and darkness, therefore these same variances may occur in our footrests. You can also match your selected foot rest with the vinyl leg wraps, to really enhance the look of your chair. Don’t forget to add cushion covers and silicone placements too. About the makers:

When babies approach four to six months, it’s usually time to introduce regular food. It usually starts with small bites of mashed vegetables, fruits or purees. But eventually, they will be eating full meals. That process won’t always be a smooth one, but it can be eased by having helpful equipment. When decorating with an ottoman or pouffe, always consider where and how you are planning on using it. The context will determine which kind of ottoman suits you.

Upon testing it with many babies (thank you testers!), we realised why this is part of our must-have IKEA highchair Accessories list for the IKEA Antilop highchair! Noticing an immediate change in the baby’s posture and ultimately concentrating on eating and making meal times a happier and safer time for weaning babies. Please also note all prices are for the Footrest as a standalone product, we do not sell the IKEA Antilop High chair. Regarding feet placement, you don't need all of their feet covering the Footsi® high chair footrest initially, if they even get part of their heel on, it would be giving them comfort and support, knowing they have something to rest their feet on during mealtimes. The optimum position they’ll eventually get to is hips at 90 degrees, knees at 90 degrees and ankles at 90 degree (90/90/90).

Time for your baby to join the big leagues! Weaning doesn’t have to be a pain, even though a mess is unavoidable. With a highchair, your baby can explore new tastes and textures in a safe and controlled space. And it might help give you some peace during mealtimes too. A highchair can help with the weaning Apart from the highchair, there are plenty of other accessories that help make mealtime easier. Like some colourful baby plates and bowls, to make trying new foods extra fun. And, since a mess is unavoidable, you need a removable tray that you can easily pop off and wash.

A highchair can help with the weaning

Wash your cushion cover in a cold machine wash in a washing bag or hand wash. Place it flat and allow it to air dry. Do not use bleach or fabric softener, do not iron, dry clean or tumble dry. For tough stains, you may also want to use some Napisan (or equivalent) spray or powder to soak in before washing. You may want to ensure you wash the cushion cover separately, for at least its first wash. You can also wipe your cushion cover with a wet wash cloth after meals. NOTE: These leg wraps will fit all IKEA highchair legs! Both the old style straight legs and the new style legs with the slight bend.
